Hey Janerio Im on the regimen too... itll be day 21 for in about an hour. I really wish you luck. Ive been on it before and it really does work so keep at it. Also, it looks like your acne is pretty superficial like near the surface, not huge and deep cysts, so hopefully things will clear quickly.

so wait, what are cysts supposed to feel like? because i always thought they were very painful, hard, and round.

Yea there pretty big, painful and i guess round. I dont think ive had any so its hard to say, but I have had some small red bumps that are sensitive. Im not sure, but whenever they are mentioned they are pretty big. Even if you do have those, there is still a chance of getting clear on Dan's reg becuase people have done it before. What kind do you have, and what have you tried?

most of my acne occurs on my lower cheeks and chin = i can't keep my hands away from my face. it's a terrible habit. they are usually very painful and a mix of blood and pus when popped. some pimples are just "plugs" and can get picked right out without any harsh irritation.

i just know that i am tired of looking like a monster. all those pics are without makeup. i have worn makeup everyday for 10 years until i started the regimen. so i hope this embaressment pays off. i just want to look healthy :(

Aw you will, I feel the same way but its okay, you really dont look like a monster I swear. Thats really brave of you to not wear makeup. I wear concealer and powder, I just cant bare to not wear anything, not sure why. It seems like you have been good with not popping tho because I noticed a couple whiteheads, if that was me they wouldve been popped a long time ago, thats very good of you. DEFINATELY do not touch your face, only makes it worse. How long have you had acne now?

Oh and by the way, I kinda get it in the same spot. Only occasionally around my mouth, but always on my cheeks. Ever since I started the regimen my left cheek has been perfect, that and my chin and forehead havent had one pimple. But my right side just continually breaks out. I had some clogged pores before I started and all of them turned into painful spots unfortunately, so I look like a before and after picutre or something, liek two-faced, but it gives me hope of what my entire face WILL look like eventually.

i just started classes on monday for fashion design and i haven't worn makeup to any of my classes. it's so hard. i know when people talk to me, they aren't maintaining eye contact because my face distracts them. i usually see my boyfriend everyday and i haven't wanted to see him lately because my skin looks like...well you see.

hi janerio your beautiful but i got a little suggestion because you have acne just like mine have you ever tried accutane. If not you should look into it before you get scarring.

i've never tried accutane, i tried retin a micro when i was a kid and it worked if i remember correctly, but i don't have any health insurance so i can't afford accutane right now. and idk if i want to put myself through those symptoms!

how fast do you start seeing results with accutane?

Hi janeiro21,

it looks like we have a very similar type of breakout. I can imagine how you are feeling... we probably share the same emotions. Stay in there. In a sense I've been humbled/enlighted by all this.

Sometimes when you've got everything, you are afraid to lose. When you've got nothing, you are most powerful. Fear the one who has nothing to lose, he is dangerous. I feel powerful.

have you ever been on the pill for your acne? It works like a bomb for some people, my acne was like yours and it is tons better now and ive only been on the pill for 2 months and 6 days now. no side effects for me plus my hair stays clean for days and days because of less oil. It is worth a try 2 go on the pill B4 going on accutane if you ever feel that you have 2 take stronger stuff.

you've all been incredibly helpful and supportive. it feels really good to have someone on your side for such a personal issue!

i don't have health insurance right now i'm in between jobs but planned parenthood sells pills at a pretty decent cost.

i'll post any improvement pics. thank you!!

Hey girlie,

I have similer acne like yours and my self confidence has gone down so much. Like you I avoid seeing my bf when my acne gets worse and I cannot walk outside to the kitchen without my makeup. You shuold definitely try ortho tri cyclen it helps so much with the acne. If you go to your dermo ask him about nicomide. It works on the inflamation it use to work for me when I was on doryx and nicomide. Both seem to work like a miracle but sometimes you can go without the doryx and just be on nicomide.

I use cetaphil soap too. I read on the acne cure book that if we go on a diet of salmon and blueberrys it helps the skin get better because this types of foods avoid inflamation. I have noticed that when I eat corn, hot foods, sphagetti sauce, and yogurt my skin gets horrid. Are this foods in your diet? I read on the acne cure that the foods I just mentioned badly inflame the skin as welll.

Hi there, just wondering have you tried a BC contraceptive pill like Yasmin? Because I heard that acne on girls that is round the jawline is caused by hormonal problems. It worked for me! good luck with everything X

I have jumped on the "no make-up" wagon this week also. All of my friends think I'm crazy... but you know what? I think we're making th right decision. I think it's best for us to let our skin breathe and heal. You're not alone... you have make-up-less buddies out there!!!
