I am an early 40's professional who has always had oily skin and breakouts. I was managing them with an oral medication (spironolactone) for over 8 years when I suddenly developed a huge breakout on my neck this past summer and fall. NOTHING touched it--oral or cream antibiotic. I am a university professor, so going to work and having to lecture to my students became an exercise in humiliation. No amount of makeup was able to cover the breakout, which kept growing each week. Disgusted, I saw the dermatologist who said I needed to go on Accutane. I was terrified of the side effects at my age and really did not want to do it. In a last ditch effort to find a remedy, I stumbled across Acne.org. I'd been a Proactive user in my early 20's and I was skeptical of this new system, but I was desperate. I ordered the Acne.org regimen before Thanksgiving and I started it the day after Thanksgiving 2017. By Christmas 2017 I was clear, so I started the AHA and continued with the rest of the regimen. One month later (end of January 2018) and my skin is AMAZING. The tone and texture is better than it has ever been. I added the jojoba oil and take the supplements that Dan wrote about on his blog (fish oil, zinc, vit d3). I am still on spironolactone, but take 1/2 of my usual dose. I get maybe 1 little pimple per month and it is gone in a day or two. I am absolutely thrilled and amazed!
