It's kinda funny. I've always thought my acne disfigured me, even though I've only ever had mild acne. I figured everyone saw a completely different person when they looked at me before and after a breakout.

However, looking at your photos, you're beautiful regardless of your acne - it doesn't change the shape of your face, the color of your eyes, or the straightness of your teeth. You're still the same you; it's not like a different person appeared when your complexion was at its worst compared to its best. In perspective, all it really does is add a bit of redness to your skin and create a slightly uneven texture, but you still look like you.

I can definitely see how we are our own worst critics. Now, this does not mean that I will not continue to try to clear my acne till the day I die, but I've come to realize that acne is not the opposite of beauty. In the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't change how you look or who you are.
