This is my advise lower your dose.. you should start from the lowest dose because it has a lot of side effects. This is how i took accutane before:

1st month - 10mg/daily

2nd month -10mg/daily

3rd month- 10mg every other day

4th month - 10mg 3x/week

5th month - 10mg 3x/week

6th month- 10mg 2x/week

7th month- 2x/week

8th month- once a week

9th - 12 month- 2x a month

I started clearing up at 2nd month.. On the 6th month face was clear like i did not have acne ever. I was clear for 2 years after using accutane.. But i am now currently experincng clogged pores and bumps.. But all in all accutane is really effective you just need to be patient.

ill ask my derm about lowering my dose if thats alright..so far i havent had severe side effects i just had dry lips and very mild joint pain.. how was your face now? What was the condition of your acne when you started accutane? Thanks for sharing

Mine was not cystic acne it was actually moderate with clogged pores, a lot of whiteheads and a lot of small bumps all over my face. It was uncontrollable, tried everything in the market so my derm suggested accutane for me. I did not use anything on my face during the course except mild cleanser. Ive been acne free for 2 years (took accutane year 2012) .. got No whiteheads, no clogged pores, and all my acne scars disappeared. Yet, 3 mos ago I started having bumps again..but its minor compared to what i have before..
