Two months into Accutane treatment and my skin is healing up nicely. I still have a lot of scars but no active acne...which is so nice!

That's really great! I'm happy it worked out for you. What is the procedure of going through accutane? (do you have to go through blood tests?) and did you have any initial break outs? what dosage and did you experience any side effects? Sorry im asking too many questions. I'm currently contemplating accutane

Squid31 thank you so much! It has truly been such a dramatic change over the past few months, not only with my skin but my whole life. So depending on whether you are male or female the process of getting started on Accutane is pretty different. For males it isn't too terrible, you just see a dermatologist and they can often get you a prescription that day. For females you have to take a pregnancy test and then wait 30 days to get your first script, which was the hardest 30 days of my life ;/ I did have to do an initial blood test followed by two more after each month but only had to do three total. Some doctors do it differently but they weren't too bad. I did not have any initial breakout whatsoever. My skin just got better and better, which I was extremely grateful for. If you are contemplating Accutane, I am a strong advocate for it. It WILL work, your acne will go away! It's a process but it's worth it to have your life back, And honestly, it's not as bad as it tends to sound. It's been really easy, the whole process. As long as you stay ahead of the dryness and are on top of your prescriptions you will be just fine :) Please let me know if you have any questions at all!!!
