Closer up shot of right cheek (hyperpigmentation?)

If only my skin looked as nice as it does in the section closest to my ear and jawline. I really used to have beautiful skin, and I wish I had appreciated it when I had it, because now it feels like I'll be ugly forever. My acne holds me back so much, and I feel so ugly all the time. I try to remind myself that beauty isn't everything, and that in the long run i'd rather have a kind heart than a beautiful face :( but most of the time that's hard to settle for.

I haven't tried any yet- a few weeks ago I was considering trying a lactic acid peel, because I had researched it and it seems to be effective for many people. But now that I'm starting to break out again, I'm reluctant to try a peel till I've got my skin more under control. But thanks for the tip! Hopefully soon I'll be able to try some peels!

Hi Bad*Wold, I think that a lot of us on this site understand your pain. I've had acne/scarring for 6 years now and it has affected my life significantly. It has taken a toll on me, especially mentally. It's been like a rollercoaster ride for me, sometimes up and mostly down. I've tried and tried too to get stronger, but I know how difficult it can be. This is a late post, but I really hope that you're doing better and that things have improved for you...I personally have stopped applying chemicals on my skin for the past two years. I am gonna try natural remedies at home when I get inflamed pimples and will post on this site afterwards. Take care :)

I do the same thing: I try to remind myself that outer appearance isn't everything, but when I look in the mirror, it just really upsets me sometimes and gets the best of me. You're absolutely right, but we have to fight acne, especially mentally.
