front view , day 12 on doxy

It feels a bit smoother, but more red. I have been very dry due to the increase in benzol peroxide and retin-a. My face feels very rough and scab-like. The active nodules and cysts on my cheeks seem to be healing, but the red marks are refusing to leave! My forehead seems to be clearing up a little, but my right cheek is inflamed the most.

Hey,

Just wanted to say hang in there. i can relate with the benzol peroxide dryness. It made my face red and dry at first but your skin should eventually build up a tolerance with it. Btw just wanted to say with or without acne you are absolutely gorgeous not gunna lie :)

Thank you! I'm just keeping my focus on the end product: clear skin!! Until then, I'm "a work in progress/under construction" haha. And I've used BP in the past, but my derm had me stop about a year ago so I'm back at it! Just feel like it's so much more harsh on my skin these days.

Have you tried moisturizing with jojoba oil?

I haven't tried it yet but I've heard of a lot of people use it. Were you on Accutane? Did you use it then?

Yep agreed! I used to use BP but my face got really red so my derm prescribed me Differin in May, which contains Adapalene. Everyones different! It's all a long process trust me lol. I got my big breakout out 2 years ago and I've been doing many things to alter my lifestyle. I'd also recommend using jojoba oil because it is much more natural than other moisturizers and does not clog your pores. Feel free to ask any questions! I've been and still going through the same stuff as you so i feel ya

I would seriously consider going to a dermatologist and trying to get onto accutane! Itll clear you up in a few months! Mine was as active as yours a few months back and accutane is doing its job. I know acne is horrible but i you are pretty even if you dont feel it :)

I've been seeing a dermatologist since my sophomore year in high school. I'm now a senior in college. I'm starting accutane on the 30th of this month:) Hope all goes well with it!
