Hey man. I must admit you got hit by acne in some areas harder than me. I had long hair several times during my life, and I found sometimes it made my skin worse. My hair got greasy fast and too much and frequent shampoo wasnt good. My advice- shave all off =) Beard too, and keep the beard short. I know- less hair will expose your scars more, but for the sake of skin health... its a dilemma.

After *tane course your skin is fragile and you must delay all scar treatment plans for 6 months. Meanwhile- keep a healthy skin care routine and read up the boards. Theres plenty of info here on boards. Good Luck!

Acne has been a genetic thing in my family my father is scarred up worse then I am and he had short hair. On Accutane my skin has been dry and alot of my hair fell out "greasy hair" has been the least of my worries, not to mention I play in a Heavy Metal band and I love my hair. What I would like to know is... what I should do about the scars , now that my acne has been put under control.

I haven't seen your sides but I have the same type of scarring on my forehead. I plan on dermarolling it. Check the scar treatment forums. I recommend laser(fraxel repair) but it's expensive. Scar treatment takes time and money. I only have one of those. :D Good luck bro.

Hey! :( My fiance' has long hair, he was in a metal band and DONT cut it, it looks cute :D If you feel it's bothering your skin, just pull it back. I had cystic acne growing up and I still get it if I stop going to the dermatologist. Mines genetic as well, I got it from my dad. I have some scars left that I've been trying to deal with forever. After I was off of acutane for a while, and my acne was all cleared up I had laser surgery to try to lessen the scarring. It helped, but honestly they're still pretty visible and it was REALLY expensive. This was years ago though. Right now I'm using Silkia Camellia oil with the other topicals my doctor prescribed me, and it seems to be helping with my hyperpigmentation and parts of my scars on my temples seem to be filling in a little. It takes time though, and lots of it when it comes to scars filling in, so you have to be patient no matter what you use. I ordered a dermaroller, I'm waiting for that to come so I can use that along with the Silkia Camellia oil. If you research Silkia Camellia oil on the internet a lot of people have had success over time, but it's trail and error for everyone. I really like it though, and I hope adding the use of a dermaroller helps :D I hope this helps you! And i love metal music, good luck with your band! :D

Try Tamanu Oil from highonhealth.org's store. I am using it currently on my scars and its healing properties and freaking amazing!
