Day 82, 60 mg isotretinoin (amnesteem)

Ok, not the best quality picture but it's the most recent one I have with no make-up on. This was taken Halloween night before I took my daughter out. Yes, I can actually leave the house with no make-up and not feel hideous. It's been a long time (let's say 12 years) since I felt good enough to do that!

Yours looks alot like mine. Did you have do other treatments before the accutane? I just started having major trouble 4 months ago. I feel horrible. How did you endure the days when it looked so bad you didn't want to leave the house?

I was on doxycycline for about 2 months before I started accutane and it did nothing for me. When the cystic acne was at its worst I can't tell you how I got through it. I spent every night crying, every morning trying in vain to cover it up, every day avoiding conversation with everyone including my best friends and work colleagues. Everyone told me they didn't care and not to worry about it and it didn't change who I was inside and they still loved me....but all that really didn't change the desperation I felt. I suffered anxiety attacks whenever I felt a new cyst forming. I did what should never be done and picked at my face trying to make them go away. It always made it worse. New cysts would form around the cyst I was trying to get rid of. I started getting pimples where I never had them before. It was a nightmare. My 4 yr old daughter kept asking me what was wrong with my face. She doesn't know any better but it made it so much more difficult. When I found out about accutane and saw the pictures of success on this site I knew that this would be my cure. That was what gave me hope and I just counted down the days until I got my first pack of magic pills. The truth is, no one notices as much as you do, no one cares as much as you do, but no one hurts as much as you do either. But it was always good to talk about it with my husband. So, if you have someone that's willing to listen to you bitch and whine and moan and cry and will tell you that you are beautiful even when you feel like the most hideous creature on the planet- you have to lean on that person.

Just wondering if you were on birth control while on accutane. I too suffered acne since 14 went on accutane at 18 and cleared. I always flared bad before my period my whole life and tried 3 different b.c.s which always made it worse including spiro and metformin. I am now 34 yrs old had a baby 10 months ago and am flared up bad chronically. They want me on orthocycle before and while on accutane. Just curious if the pill would hinde my accutane results ? You got a great result congrats you must be so happy !
