Day 20

Ok so here I am on day 20. I'm a little behind on posting pictures because I've honestly been a little hesitant but here goes nothing! Currently today (3/24) is day 50. Now keep in mind these pictures do no justice what so ever - it doesn't look nearly as bad as it was but you get the idea. Much love

You are very attractive--even with a couple zits. With the pictures you posted wearing makeup, I couldn't even tell you had acne. Don't give up hope if the acne gets worse before it gets better. Often with Isotretinoin, it takes up to 3-4 months before a good improvement. I was completely clear after 3 months. If your face becomes really dry, preferably rub in Aquaphor at night or use Cetaphil Ultra Hydrating Lotion. Be patient and God bless, I can guarantee your skin will clear up beautifully :D

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something. Always try to take Clavaris with a meal, preferably high in fat. In clinical trials, Isotretinoin proves to be up to twice as effective when consumed with a meal high in fat.

I liked to think of a Bible verse if I ever got down about my acne. Proverbs 3:5 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths." This means that ultimately, God is in control and we are not. We often rely on our own false understanding of a situation, but God understands all situations. If we bring our cares to him, he will lead us down the right path :D

For me, it took up until the fourth month until I looked good again. Be patient, it will work, I can guarantee it. The acne has to get worse before it can get better; the accutane is purging your skin of all the oil and underlying zits. Ask your doctor if you can go on Erythromycin oral antibiotic tablets. They will help you clear up immediately. I even went on a 3 day apple fast and I cleared up a lot afterwards--I was that desperate! Be patient though, good things take a lot of time. My acne got a ton worse during the first 3 months. Try to remember to take the accutane with a meal, although I'm sure you already are. Remember that you are very pretty as well and a little bit of acne can;t take that away from you.

Seriously thank you for all the kind words :D

I'm just starting month 3 so hopefully things will start to go up hill from here - I'm not holding my breath though. Now, I asked my derm. if I should take my pill with food and she said it doesn't really matter. I've just been taking them with a glass of water or milk or meal if possible. My pills only come in 40 mg and I need 60 mg/day so on even days I take one when I wake up (8am) and one when I go to sleep (10pm) and then on odd days I take one around 3pm. Sooo it's kinda hard to eat a high in fat meal at those times. Any ideas? And when you say high in fat are you talking high in trans fats? Not saturated fats right? So what should I be eating?

I'll def. ask about the tablets too!! She was very specific that she didn't want me on anything else while on the accutane so we'll see :D
