Hi my name is Jeff, I just turned 25 and I am new to this forum but I have been visiting reading all you guys great discussions over the past few years. Decided to recently join the website to join in the discussions.

I am currently on a second low dose course of accutane (40mg / day). 1 month in so far. My first course ended about 3 years ago (80mg / day). The first course helped reduce the severity but unfortunately "IT" came back. Hope the second course further reduces the severity and freuency of breakouts until I outgrow this "disease."

Like many others, acne has reduced my confidence and drive to succeed. The odd thing I find is that it bothers me just as much if not even more compared to when my acne was much worse.

Hope to take part in some dicussions in the future........

HOnestly Jeff, I don't see any acne on your face! And the doctor prescribed you accutane?

I've had acne my entire life, but it has subsided over the recent years. But just this year (i'm turning 25), my acne has returned and its leaving quite terrible scars on my face. Earlier this year, I had quite a few break outs, but now it subsided - however, i'll have one or two pimples, and when they subside, another one or two will appear. Each time, noticeable scars are being left. I asked my doctor about accutane and he refuses to prescribe it to me. Minocyclines and doxycyclines are out of the question because i've had such terrible reactions with them. I want your doctor!
