I've been on roaccutane for a couple of months, but I took other stuff beforehand. Topical medication (which didn't seem to do much) and doxycycline pills (which helped, but didn't completely clear it).

Thanks. I know there are people with worse scarring, but nevertheless it still really pisses me off. I don't know how much longer I can tolerate it. Is it safe to use Bio-oil while you're on Accutane?

Hi! Congrats on clear skin.

Actually I think those marks (although they are hardly visible at all) makes you look eccentric and quirky, in a positive way :D You don't look like a clone, like so many others.. You look good!

Hey,

I did accutane twice over a four year period and it changed my life -- so I'm glad you are doing it. BUT -- the crazy dry lips are tough. The best thing for them is Aquaphor, you can get it at any drugstore in little tubes for lip application.

As for the scars - -it's a long battle to recovery. I had dermabrasion which left me with white spots (hypo-pigmentation) which are pertty terrible -- so don't do that.

I just did a course of 3 fraxel tratments. At 2 months out I would say I have about 35-40% improvement in skin tone and scars. So it's gradual and subtle (and v. expensive - $3600), but has no real downside to potentially making your skin worse, which is the most importnant thing. Also MICRO- dermabrasion can make subtle improvements and is realtively inexpensive at about $100 a treatment.

In any case, you're a super cutie, and I'm absolutely postive that's the first thing anyone sees about you -- not the scars.

Good luck!
