ME and STRESS obviously do not get along well...

I had near perfect skin up until this year as you can see. Unfortunately I was an idiot and started a new type of birth control that made my hormones freak out, which added to the breakouts I was already getting from mass amounts of stress. Thanks to a change in diet and sitting in the steam room after I work out, I really don't have that many zits anymore only a few really...but my skin is irritated and due to my asian skin my pigmentations are horribly dark. I just ordered the BP gel hoping Dan's regimen will work. If anyone else has these type of marks please let me know I'm not alone!!!!!!

I have hyperpigmentaiton too-have you tried any lotion with lactic acid or hydroquinone? bp can make it worse for people of color, which my derm did not tell me...I've been using witch hazel to dry out the zits and lotion with lactic acid and it seems to be doing the trick

hi, I also have hyperpigmentation, but mine are red and some are brownish.

My regimen seems to be helpping my cystic and nodules and the marks are fading slowly, but soon I will be there! Unlike your story, I got like this when I got off birth control. My skin was perfect while on it. Never gota single pimple! I miss those day :D(

Wash my face with at night:

    Mario Badescu's Glycolic foaming cleanser

    Aloe Vera Gel

2.5 bp (dk) was using Neutrogena

Mario Badescu's AHA and Ceramide moisturizer

    In the am:

    Mario Badescu's SeaWeed Cleansing Soap

Tone with Mario Badescu's cucumber cleansing lotion

2.5 bp (dk) was using Neutrogena

Moisturize with Mario Badescu's AHA and Ceramid Moisturizer

If you're not actively breaking out anymore, you might want to use "vanishing" creams to lighten the dark spots. Clinique makes a full line of lightening products specifically for asian skin (they only sell it in certain areas, usually where a lot of asian people live, but you could get it online). There are tons of cheaper alternatives too, like Avon.

    Hey girl

In comparison to my skin as a woman of colour your skin looks great. I'm brown skinned with hyperpigmentation across my cheeks and neck. I've had scars for almost 10 years and tried everything. I've now decided less is more, peels, laser resurfacing, dermabrasion does not work on my scars...makes your skin feel real smooth but nothing else. This is what I wish these dermatologists would just tell you its not really for getting rid of scarring more for looking younger, softer feeling skin which I have already!!!

I'm gonna try a fade cream with little hydroquinone in it as that just makes my marks or breakouts look darker if too strong. Your marks will go quickly as you dont have layers and layers of hyperpigmentation like I do..to a point where my original skin tone has all but disappeared!

I can only grimace now at the time and money wasted on products quoting "miracle" outcomes.

Drinking water is probably the easiest, safest and cost effective thing to do to help your skin as it rejuvenates. I need to drink more to be honest but I look better for it when I do.

I hope your stresses are calming down but try not to worry too much...I know easier said than done!

you know i have scars on my cheeks and i would rather have your hyperpigmentation then my scars( your skin texture looks lovely )...at least yours are mostly on your forehead, use your fringe to cover it for the time being...

it will go away with time, dont stress about it....

    DUDE-

EXACT same thing happened to me. My skin was PERFECT and I went on Yasmine and BAM, zits! My face looks, seriously, exactly like yours does. Ah, college...grrrr...

I'm actually on finacea right now, seems to be working somewhat...

Hang in there, girl. It's a relief to find someone who can actually understand where I'm coming from:)

Since your spots are dark I would suggest you use hydroquinone 4% (I would recommend Obagi) I have tried the Proactive hydroquinone 2% and that didn't do anything at all

The Obagi Blender is what I use although it's expensive ($80) it works like a miracle on brown spots ... I saw my brown spots lighten within 2 weeks, it's well worth the investment

Don't buy 2% that doesn't do anything (at least for me) ... I use the Obagi blended and I saw my dark brown spots fading in about 2 weeks ... it's pretty expensive ($80) but it's worth the investment
