I had a lot of acne when I was in my early/mid teens and used the standard cleaners. Never really did anything.

Prescription med's were really the only thing that helped me. I've been on Dalacin T (Clindamycin) and Tetracycline. Both worked great for me, especially Tetracycline. I was on the oral pills for 2-3 months, then decided to stop taking them.

I'm 21, and while both prescription med's worked flawlessly, I didn't want to have to be a slave to medications. So I decided to stop using everything and change my diet, which I do believe has something to do with skin issues.

Since changing my diet to a much healthier lifestyle (lots of working out and fresh/light eating) I've never had to go back to medications. I still get an occasional pimple or two, but they are small and usually clear up in a day or two.

I take supplements and 1-a-day multi-vitamin designed for men, and eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. I also work out as much as I can and have successfully limited my daily saturated fat intake to under 10g a day and also eat zero trans fats.

I have no idea if this lifestyle change has affected my skin, all I know is I don't have the skin problems I had before.
