IF u can to make an appointment w/ a dermatologist make sure you tell them it's an emergency and u can't wait. They take forever to get you in sometimes Quote Link to comment
Lucky Charms 0 Posted May 4, 2007 Wow, you went to bed with clear skin and woke up.... I would try Dan's regimen first. Quote Link to comment

the pacifist 0 Posted May 4, 2007 you should use over the counter shit before you mess with accutane or anything prescribed. I recommend benzyl peroxide The first dermatologist I went to prescribed a benzoyl wash (5%?) and I believe that actually made it worse. The next morning my entire face was beyond red and completely inflammed. Right now I'm trying to use a more mild wash. Cetaphil in the morning and at nights, it's not helping but it def isn't as painful as the benzoyl wash. thank you for the feed back though. much appreciated Quote Link to comment
calla lily 2 Posted May 4, 2007 maybe it was an allergic reaction to something. did you do anything different before you suddenly got the breakout? Quote Link to comment
RiceBall 0 Posted May 4, 2007 What's wrong with the age 20??? This is exactly what happened to me as well!!!! It all happened so fast!!! in 2 months, my face was full of cysts!!!! !!!! !!!! Its painful, but you just have to deal with it. I'm on accutane rite now , so hope it will work! and don't use something that will irratate ur skin, use mild cleanser!!! Best luck to all of us, unfortunately, the problem will not go away soon Quote Link to comment

Melodie 0 Posted May 4, 2007 lol dont listen to the above about over the counter products, you need accutane from a dermatologist, over the coutner products didnt do shit for me, gd luck xx My skin got like that from all the products and liqiud makeup I used on it for years. I figured out they were the cause after I stopped using them and my skin started to get better. It may not work for everyone but apple cidar vinegar and aloe vera gel have helped my skin sooo much! I had acne all over my face last summer now I only get little spots on occasion and the redness is gone finally!! Good luck and remember be gentle and don't use too many products. the pacifist 0 Posted May 4, 2007 maybe it was an allergic reaction to something. did you do anything different before you suddenly got the breakout? The only change was that prior to this I had moved out of state ( to Boston from Florida) and I was told these things can be brought on by change of environment. does anyone know if there's any truth to that??? My experience 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Dont listen to who ever said try over the counter products before accutane I would seriously consider visting a derm and they should be able to help you clear that up in a couple of months. Quote Link to comment
.pink.barbie. 0 Posted May 7, 2007 I'm really sorry this happened to you sweetie, I know how much of a shock and how horrifying acne is. It has made me a very self conscious girl, which is a shame because I love meeting new people and experiencing new things. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time with over the counter scrubs and such...I think you should get on Accutane as soon as possible. Please don't stress over the side effects, the majority of people get really dry skin and dry lips, with some minor aches and pains. I myself am currently entering my 3rd month of accutane. Please consider it, you will be thankful you did in about 5 months time! Quote Link to comment
