GETTING DISCOURAGED 104 DAYS ON CSR

Hello everyone. I feel like I've hit a wall. The initial improvement was so amazing, but now I'm getting pimples in different places (lower on my cheeks), the redness is not subsiding, and the BP is burning my face now. I'm using a full finger of Dan's BP. I'm so tired of this!!! I want to get my confidence and my life back...

*edit* I know it's hard to see in a photo, but my pores look disgusting. They are all cloggy and gross. The regimen strictly prohibits doing anything to exfoliate (beyond AHA, which I have not tried yet). I've never had such clogged pores in my life! Also, my skin is not only red, it is super sensitive. It burns all the time now--for about the past week. I swear I'm not doing anything differently.

Try not to be too discouraged, from what I can see your redness is fading and from the picture it looks like you have very little active acne and still a MASSIVE improvement from the begining! :D

Yes, my skin has improved massively. But look at my "before" picture. My skin was 98% clear. Now I am left with a zillion clogged pores and redness, redness, redness. This is not healthy :D

I dunno...I never went on the regimen..but I would suggest trying something different. I'm not trying to bad mouth the regimen...but maybe it's just not working for you. Seems like it is really irritating your skin. :D

sometimes things stop working, when i was on the regimen last yr it worked great then stopped dead. its like the bp became immune. maybe try a facial or something to get the dead cells/clogged pores out or a gentil scrub. good luck!

    Hey Tina,

After 3 months, you shouldn't still be red from BP, at all, certainly not 2.5%.

I personally can't use the 2.5% csr, it dries my skin like mad, but I can use 5% Quinoderm or even 10% Oxy which is bizarre, I believe I'm allergic to one of the ingredients in the CSR.

Also, don't worry about breaking out after 100 days, I was still breaking out by this time, but I broke out less and less and less each time, finally your skin will stabalise I'm sure.

Even though your skin might not be 100% clear, it still looks a billion times better when you compare the before and after, you've come a long long way.

Hey Tina... Your skin is looking great... If you want I would suggest just bping in the morning and let the skin rest at night because that is when skin does most of the healing, not during the day... You need bp on during the day to fight the bacteria and ect... You never know one application of bp might be better for your skin in the long run...And you can use that aha lotion at night since no bp is being used...You know your skin the best and good luck...

I think you look great, celebration. For the clogged pores, maybe it's time to move to AHA-land? I was going to order the Eucerin Skin Renewal to try today off of amazon.com but apparently they've pulled it...so it's nowhere to be found online, unfortunately. There's always Neutrogena Healthy Skin, though, if your skin can tolerate the fairly strong glycolic acid in it.

I know I know I know Dan doesn't recommend exfoliation and think this is a good general guideline since it's so easy to screw up your skin with all the BP, but it could be the thing to help get your skin back to the way it was last year if AHA doesn't pan out. I'm an advocate of manual exfoliation with a toothbrush or a clean dry washcloth, not with a scrub. It kept flaking under control even back when I was just starting to apply BP all over my face. Of course flaking isn't an issue now since my skin just drinks up the BP, but I've kept up the exfoliating and I'm telling you, clogged pores and redness are non-existent. The texture of my skin is pretty nice, aside from some slight scarring that exfoliation obviously wouldn't help with. Exfoliating doesn't have to be harsh on your face if you do it gently enough. Scrubs and scrub washes always left my skin feeling pretty irritated when I tried them even when I wasn't using BP (not to mention that they don't rinse clean all the time!) but I don't have those problems with my old soft toothbrush. Anyway, my point is that exfoliation isn't a bad thing if you do it right (which a lot of people don't) and that you might consider it even though Dan's not a fan.

honestly i have the smae problem as you. i would use of of that medicated apricot scrub, the white bottle. that stuff is great. dont scrub hard just gently put any force and that stuff gives you a good feel for your skin. i love it after shaving.

i just wanted to say that you look great from your pics, but i know what you mean about the picture. im on tane and started a gallery but i looked so good in the pic that nobody could see the bad tone of my face and the clogged pores so i just removed it before people thought i was crazy.

i agree with what someone said, have a day break. i tried the regimen once and it seemed to work for a mont or so and then went back down hill, but i did not give it a chance to work. you have come so far now its worth sticking it out a little longer.

Thanks for your posts everyone! I did take a break from BP yesterday. I'll post a new pic for comparison, to see if that helped. I actually feel better today. Not because I look better but because I have changed my attitude :D
