I've tried all the tetracycline groups (tetracycline, do-oxycycline), minocycline, erythromycin, BP (2.5, 5 and 10%s), salicylic acid face washes (clean and clear, witch, avon, clearisil), homeopathic treatments, topical isotretinoin, clindamycin, zinc, B5, oil extraction masks, erm, black head scrubs, pore wipes, pore strips, oxy on the spot, oxy10, the list goes on............
and given i have tried them all on spearte occasions over 7 years (longer now), and gave them time to work. Nothing has worked yet. oh and ive tried red light therapy (supposed to cut inflammation, doesnt).
have u ever tried accutane..? pls ask doc for that.
may be laser is good for you too. i heard that some lasers can cure acne as well as scars.

Don't worry too much. I can honestly say and not be embarrased as a guy, you still look fine with acne. Really. No pun. Cheer up. Oh and try to open wide your mouth, exaggerate a big smile by saying "Why-Eeee" and extending it. flex your facial muscles, use your knuckles and in circulating motion.

Hey - the acne is there, but it doesn't look as bad as you think it does. Have you given Dan's Regimen a try? I'd say it's at least worth a shot. It might take a couple/few months, but perhaps in the end you'll be glad you tried it.

Sometimes i reckon acne is effected alot by your mind set, whats going on in your head. If your very embarassed by your condition youl likely stay at home alot and be very depressed and spend every minute of your life dwelling on it in self pitty. Take up a hobby that gets you away from the thoughts, i got gym equipement and just focused all my effort on weight lifting, maybe getting a pet to look after, any healthy past time. Its usually the people with too much spare time dwelling at home that get acne. Keep occupied and active, doesnt need to be sports, could be evening walks, meeting with friends outside the home more often and having fun regardless of any insecurities or little red spots on your face. I feel acne is so emotionally connected and while acne doesnt always begin by having a bad mind set, being down and inactive and dwelling on your condition usually stops the condition from improving, be carefree. I really hope things work out for you.

I would highly recommend the regimen and patience. I know, I was sick of trying to be patient after dealing with it for 9 years and trying lots of things. But be patient with the regimen. Give it 2 months at least and follow religiously. (Check out Maryscary1's album for awesome results in 1 year) Don't fall off the wagon even once! I let up on the BP a little bit and they came back. I agree with you on Accutane- that is serious stuff with serious side effects. Best wishes!

All you need to do is do not eat hormonal foods ex. Beef/Turkey ex.
Wash your pillow every week, do not sleep on the sides of your face,
clean your shaver, wash only twice a day with what i use "Avon" skin cleaner, drink LOTS of water and you'll be fine

Im new to this message board. I too am a victim of this wretched disorder that has left my love life and social life in ruins. I had acne like you did when i was in my late teens. It took me years to figure out that it wasnt about the number of times i washed or sleeping with my face against the pillow. My skin wasnt causing my acne, it was my diet. I did a 6 month treatment of accutane and 4 months after that it came back with a vengeance. It wasnt until about a year ago that i noticed that i would break out like crazy after I ate seafood, shrimp, crab legs, lobster, scallops and such. I stopped eating these foods for 3 months straight and i cleared up. then i went to the seafood buffet one weekend and guess what, within 2 days i could feel the bastards under my skin. maybe you should think about that. Change your diet a bit, keep a journal and look for paterns. Good Luck

I'm not sure if you're still looking for help, but have you tried to detox your liver? or change your diet?
