Really want to get on ro-accutane

hey guys!

Ive had really bad acne for the past 6 years. I have tried all the over the counter stuff and

doxycycline, mino etc, also been put on defferin cream too. However my acne has still came

back and now worse then ever. I finally have an appointment with the derm! which is

still a couple of months away. Anyway I really want to get on ro-accutane, because

I have been so depressed and my acne is effecting my life to much. Does anyone have any tips

on what i could say or not say to maybe persaude my derm to put me on it. If my derm

saw my face at the moment I know they would put me on it ASAP but I know that ive been

unlucky in life any my face will probably clear up a lot by the time it comes round.

Thanks for any help!

Dermatologists are good people mainly and not stupid so I don't think that you will have to persuade them. People are put on accutane not jus for severe acne but for all forms even the very mild types especially when its really affecting the person. Jus be honest with the derm and explain how acne is making you feel and i'm sure he will prescribe it.

I only asked as I'm 100% certain that the derms in the uk would prescribe you accutane. I'm sure you will get it if you are worried jus emphasise the emotional effects that acne has on you. Good luck.

What are u using at the moment?

The thing is half the time the derms dont really speak to you, they may ask you a question and its then you should take the opportunity to tell them as much as u can.... whilst they're writing notes.... This is always offputting but they do know what they're talking about (they are specialists afterall) and although you can't persuade them to give u a particular treament you could ask about it....

Just make sure you remember all the treatments you've used and think about how it affects your life - then tell the derm this (inbetween him/her writing notes).

I had my first derm appt on saturday and i felt just like you - i was hoping that my face would look bad so she could see it at its worse... it wasnt as bad as it had been but it was bad enough for her to recommend roaccutane.

Good luck :)

my experience was totally different. I had two different dermatologists trying to persuade me to go on accutane. lol. I'm glad I did now.

youll get it for sure if you ask and since you have already tried other products and you should get it because that acne looks like it could scar and you don't want it to get any worse!
