Smoothbeam, Cooltouch, Subcision

Hi guys. I've been a member here from almost a year. I used to be a major acne sufferer and now suffer from rolling scars and a few icepicks and boxcar scars. The previous year, after being made fun of and suffering from depression, I resolved, that no matter how little money I was earning, to set aside an amount for treatment. I started with Smoothbeam at the Skin Centre for 7 months (rest periods of 2 months in between each treatment, for healing, both my skin and my wallet) and then switched to Cooltouch when my derm opened his own clinic. It turned out to be a wonderful advantage as my derm has more time to treat me, and with more choices of procedures as well. He recommended subcision for the deeper scars while still doing the regular Cooltouch treatment to smoothen the skin overall. It worked. My skin actually looks good now after 4 subcision and 4 Cooltouch treatments, not to mention, adding the 3 Smoothbeam treatments as well at the beginning.

Why am I saying all these you may ask? I'm not selling anything here, not telling you what works or what doesn't. I'm telling you guys to NOT give up hope, and if you are bothered by your scars, and if you feel your treatment doesn't work, try another, change your derm, do whatever. I'm writing this because everytime I browse through this forum, I feel sad because it seems like there are very few encouraging reports from anyone. Yes, some treatments may not work for you, but there are many treatments in the market. You may not have the cash now, but you can save for it. It is possible. I've done it. So can you.

And if you do have friends that make fun of your face for their own entertainment, you can consider making some new ones. There are loads of nice people out there. You need not hang out with these losers.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing that with us. I know some people beat themselves up on their acne and or scars. I have minor scars. Yes I dont like them, but they are apart of me. If you don't like the scars then you don't like me. However I am trying to get rid of them with the fraxel laser. I am doing it for myself, not for people thinking about my scars. I want to do it for me.

yeah, i discovered this site around Jan this year, and really like it,

and thought i'd be able to find out about new stuff etc...

but the more I visit this site, there's alot of depressing stuff on here,

esp peeps being afraid to do something more serious about their acne or scarring,

and i wonder if its all the bad stuff peeps have to say about procedures.

I mean it's important the feedback from peeps treatments, but you gotta do something for yourself,

I wasted loads of money on topical creams etc, and when I finally decided to do something more

serious, Erbuim ( which i don't understand why their is so much negitivity about it) i couldn't beleive

I had waited so long to get something that only took 7-10 days downtime and although cannot clear

deep scars in one go, did reduce them really well.

to get rid of serious probs you need to take serious action.
