Tazorac is a more powerfull retinoid, but that doesn't neccesairely mean it will work better. It depends on your skin.

Taz is stronger and more irritating than retin-a. Depends on your skin regarding which one would be better.

Blackheads are sometimes very resistant to retinoids ... I am not sure why.

I would try mandelic or salicylic acid.

well salicylic acid did nothing for me, at all, so tommorow i pick up my prescription and will start retin-A..i shall do that for a few weeks so i'll be back to this forum more soon..i guess if that doesnt work for me then i shall seek out some mandellic acid..

i guess you just have to give everything a go for yourself really..theres no other way of knowing..i am a big believer on trying anything and everything for a good period of time as long as it doesnt bring about a substantial irritation on your skin..
