Eucerin dry skin renewal face cream - Help pls!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm 18 and have mild to moderate acne. After using nivea for men sensitive face wash and moisturiser with a dab of BP before bed, my acne improved so much that I stopped using Bp and it seemed to get even better and I thought I'd grown out of acne and it stayed this way for a good few months.

However, recently I started getting a few breakouts and decided it might be my moisturiser (it didn't say oil free or non-comedogenic.) I started using Eucerin because of the positive reviews it has recieved on these boards, however after using it for a few days, it seems to have made things worse. I can't be sure this is what's causing it, maybe I was just due for a break out.

Has this happened to anyone else - does it just take a while to adjust to it? Does anyone know if Eucerin is oil free and non-comedogenic? I can't help feeling that all moisturisers do is block pores, do they actually help acne or simply prevent overdrying from bp? This is really fustrating cos I know my skin can be really clear. Any advice on what I'm doing wrong would be MUCH appreciated!!! :wall:

eucerin moisturiser on its own isnt gonna do ANYTHIN.

if your prone to acne stil then simply moisturising isnt gonna help im affraid.

you need to get back on the regimen.

I will, thanks, but is Eucerin really the best one? Would it perhaps be best to not use a moisturiser to minimise risk of blocked pores? Did u get breakouts initially from Eucerin -it seems to be quite oily and it doesn't say "non-comedogenic" - soz for all the questions!

na its cool

i didnt breakout from eucerin as its a good moisturiser

the moisturiser itself wont cause breakouts.

so if your breaking out.

its because of either your personal system hasnt grown out of acne

or ur simply havin a random breakout.

Your words are kind and reassuring, Thanks! ;) Its so confusing though to know which products are doing your skin good as everyone's is different. Apparently your'e supposed to find what's 'right for you,' but I don't like the idea of using my skin as a lab rat!

I'm really thinking of switching back to my old moisturiser, as its the only thing I've changed since breaking out. How long do you think I should give Eucerin a chance for?

your from the UK i presume seeing as this is in the UK forum so my advice is

1st off

start using bP again to keep the acne undercontrol

and 2nd off

stick with eucerin simply because 90% of UKers use this and love it.

its a really good quality moisturiser hehe

and the only thing you need to get right for you is how much to use so ur skin aint greasy

but aint dry!

hang in there an take my advice on starting bp again id say

or if your acne is VERY mild

id definately suggest ACT Washbar from boots

its basically an acne medicated soap.

its pretty drying to your skin but it cleared my cheek acne up alone. without the need for bp on there

i only use bp on my chin now to keep the acnes at bay hehe

Thanks again. Is the face wash I use o.k or might it cause problems. Its called Nivea for men extra soothing face wash and is soap and fragrance free but its not non-comedogenic as dan suggests.

Cheers.

wel as u might have heard there is a new CSR Gel Cleaner now out

which the moderators of this site (me included hehe)

are trying out at the moment.

but if you dont wanna order in from www.clearskinregimen.com (by the way u cant order teh wash yet as it isnt released yet altho it is now made and tried an tested. we are simply giving feedback to dan b4 he releases it officially)

but if you want a really nice cleansing wash id sugges the one i use:

http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details....oductid=1068281

its very mild

and non comedogenic!

plus its really gentle on ur skin an not overly drying with the use of bp (plus smels very natural)

a definate buy if u want a good cleanser man

Appreciate your advice, just went out and bought it. How about BP, is panoxyl aquagel 2.5 % ok? I tended to use not too much of it as my skin kind of went orange if I did - apart from that it was pretty good. but dan says to use loads - what do u reckon?

You've been such a great help. How's this for a regimen:

morning- wash with biore pore perfect all over

- apply eucerin dry skin relief 5%Urea Moisturiser

night- wash with biore pore perfect all over

- act bar for mildly affected areas (cheeks, neck)

- Panoxyl 2.5% for more breakout prone areas (chin and forehead)

sounds like a good plan

jus remember u wont need asmuch bp in the day as u wil at night

i found that took a while to get used to when i only applied bp at night

and my face ended up lookin greasy in the day coz i hadnt applied bp.

u wil need hardly any moisturiser if your not using bp in the day.

jus so u know :D

hehe good luck an feel free to ask as many questions as u like

its what we here for

or pm me if u want a more instant response hehe!

I started the regimen with PanOxyl 2.5% and found it very irritating and drying. I would really recommend ordering some of Dan's BP and even with the postage the price works out about the same as its so much cheaper. And that eucerin moisturiser is super!

Good Luck! :D
