About the acne light treatment

Would it be the same if you just bought a small lamp and put a blue, red, or violate light in it? Like a regular GE light bulb, just a different color, or is that not the same? Because it would certainly be cheaper. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Of course it wouldn't be the same. There is a reason they have these treatments at professional cosmetic and dermatological clinics. I assure you it would be virtually impossible to achieve results at home.

Actually, you can use the following bulbs:

They're very specific bulbs though, that generate *specific* wavelengths of light. An ordinary blue or red bulb won't work.

You need almost 100% eye protection from the blue light. Closing your eyes is not sufficient. You either need opaque goggles or special colored ones.

Research says that 10 minutes everyday of the blue and red together for 3 months reduces acne by about 75% for 80% of people.
