no ib on retin a 0.05

Recommended Posts

It has been a week since i started to use Retin a 0.05%.

I finished Roaccutane 1 month ago.

My derm gave me Retin a 0.05% and said it will clear my red marks and remove the scars.

is that true? is 0.05% strong enough?

and is it ok to not have an ib on retin a?

I do see my skin peeling but not all over my face.. only little on the cheaks.. is that ok?

Thank you.

Yes, it's ok not to go through IB. Some researchers think purging from retinoids is a myth. I didn't break out from retin A both times I was on it.

Even if there's a possibility of initial breaking out due to the comedolytic nature of retinoids, it's unlikely you will because you're coming from isotretinoin which should have eliminated most if not all of your microcomedones, so there's nothing to 'purge'.

I think you're safe because you're starting with a clean slate with minimal microcomedones.
