CLEANSERS WITH VITAMIN A while on ACCUTANE?!?!?

Recommended Posts

I've been on accutane for almost two weeks and my skin is starting to dry out a little, so I went to the store and found Dove DEEP MOISTURE Creamy Facial Cleanser...because I thought maybe that would help a little and not dry me out. When I got it home, I looked at the back and it says that it's a "Gentle formula with vitamins A&E,..." Is it bad for me to use this, because I know you're not supposed to TAKE vitamin A, but I wasnt sure about lotions and cleansers with them in it. Let me know ASAP...because I've used it twice, but i dont want to continue to use it if it's going to make my face worse.

Anyone know anything about cleansers and lotions with vitamin A in them?? And if it's okay to use them while on accutane?

No, you're not supposed to use any topicals, face washes, etc. that have vitamin A in them. You're getting an excessive amount of vitamin A because of Accutane and anymore intake of Vitamin A can be lethal. Even if it's applied to your skin, your body will absorb it through your pores, then into your bloodstream. So, don't use those products. Try Dove's bar soap. That's what I use, it's great and it's soothing, and it doesn't have Vitamin A in it. Good luck. :)
