Right, i'm on the regimen but with a 2% SA wash at night instead of a gentle cleanser. I'v found this to be the best combination (BP + SA) but my skin gets really dry and flaky in the central part of the face (around mouth and nose and below forehead).

I have read that dry skin can lead to more acne due to flakes blocking pores, or dry skin causing acne just because it irritates the skin - and leaves the deeper more sensitive layers of skin more prone to bacteria etc.

Can anyone agree with this or do you think as long as you use a good moisturiser then all is good? Because basically everyone/vast majority who is on the regimen must suffer from dryness of skin.

I'm pretty clear with my regimen but i always get the odd breakout which is annoying because of the red marks they leave for a while

I use topical retinoids, and find that I need to exfoliate and get all the flakes off ... otherwise I get gunk building up behind the dead skin.

Moisturizer is only going to really help if it has AHAs in it ...
