jojoba oil info if anyone is interested

Benefit Jojoba Oil

Benefits of jojoba oil are many:

Penetrates skin and hair follices rapidly to reduce water loss

Reduce wrinkles and stretch marks

Cleans clogged pores and restores skin's natural pH balance

Lighten skin marks and scars

Pure jojoba oil is hypoallergenic

Forms a good base for shampoos, conditioners and suntan lotions

Used to treat eye and throat infections

Jojoba oil is a natural moisturizer and conditioner for the hair since it's structure is similar to the natural oil produced by the sebaceous glands in the scalp. Regular application of jojoba oil products can go a long way in tackling tangles, split ends and dry hair. A light coating of jojoba oil on the hair keeps it shiny and glossy. Jojoba oil penetrates the hair shaft to loosen and dissolve sebum build-up. Thus the scalp and hair follicles are cleansed and function normally. This can arrest hair fall.

Useful in treating acne, eczema and other skin disorders, Jojoba is also rich in certain proteins and minerals that are known to support balanced brain and pituitary functioning. Natural jojoba oil forms a thin non-greasy lipoid layer on the skin and helps soften it. Use it to fight fine lines and skin roughness. In fact jojoba oil works well for women with acne too. It helps reinforce the epidermis and heals flareups. A mild massage of jojoba oil can reduce epidermal water loss and keep the skin plump and healthy. In this way, you can keep wrinkles at bay. Since it blends well with the natural sebum of the skin, jojoba oil may be effective in curbing over production of sebum - a condition that occurs in oily skins that are prone to acne. Thus it balances the sebum levels in the skin. The anti-bacterial properties inhibit growth of acne-causing bacteria. Jojoba oil is often used as a massage oil since it gently unclogs blocked pores and lifts off grime and imbedded impurities. In such cases it is blended with grape seed oil or almond oil. It's antioxidant benefits have made jojoba oil a popular bath oil too. Prepare a herbal oil blend with ¾ cup jojoba oil, ½ tsp each of rose, lavender and geranium oils. Mix these oils together and stored in a tightly sealed bottle in a cool place.

I just used jojoba.

I cleansed, then patted my face dry and while it was still moist and applied jojoba oil all over. about a minute after i applied on the spot BP so we'll see how i look tomorrow. I hope it goes deep into my pores and kills all the bad acne bacteria and i look good tomorrow.

I was dealing with major dryness issues, it was as if my face had a mask of dry rough skin all over it, i discontinued BP usage yesterday and this morning because of it.

I love jojoba oil. I barely even use a cleanser anymore. I usually just massage with the oil in the shower at night, rinse off the excess with warm water, and just let the rest moisturize my skin all night. I also sometimes "jessfoliate" using it instead of cleanser.

I tried Jojoba oil on my face and it left it oily... thought it might also have been responsible for one or 2 breakouts .... Anyone had similar experience?

Jojoba makes u break out after like aweek for a few days, thats your skin purifying. After that, it's smooth sailing. Mix it with tea tree oil or neem oil to help acne even more. Nothing can live in tea tree oil, lol.

I use jojoba oil to take off my makeup (though I rarely wear any) I just rub it in before I cleanse and massage for a few minutes, sometimes let it sit for a bit, then wash my face as normal. Then I spot treat with tea tree oil, then moisturize. Seems to work for me..I love them!

I found these boards in an effort to find a cure for dry skin, and jojoba has delivered. I had already perfected killing off acne (at least on my face), and I recently discovered AHAs to accelerate scar fading, but my skin was dry.

I started using jojoba yesterday, and it's incredible.

My knuckles and elbows have had dry/scaly skin since my teens. If I used insane amounts of normal moisturizers, it would only help it somewhat. But jojoba is absorbed, and it stays there. After a day since I've used it, and after washing my hands several times, my skin is still smooth.

I bought a mere 4 oz of Desert Essence at Wild Oats for $12, but I've heard that NOW's 16 oz for $16 at amazon.com works just as well.
