i'm clear using head and shoulder shampoo

Recommended Posts

I believe this method works if you suffer from pityrosporum folliculitis. I think that was the main reason why my chest and upper back cleared up immensely, along with my face. Make sure you all know what specific type of acne you have.

After reading this thread, I try my mom's H&S immediately on the back. It really keep it matte for hours.( It used to be greasy during the day) I'll report the progress a few day later.

I just bought head & shoulders classic clean with 1% pyrithione zinc. Is 1% too low? I read somewhere online that someone was using a dandruff shampoo with 10% zinc and a diaper rash cream with 40% zinc.

I will be using this for body acne and was wondering if anyone had any updates?

i have used it once this morning...usually w hen i come otu of the shower my face is red from using a cleanser that probably irritated it, but with H&shoulders i felt and looked clean, my skin was its normal colour (other than the zits) and was not irritated at all

How long have you been using shampoo on your face? I only ask because it seems like whenever a new product is used on the face you seem clear for a bit, but then bam you breakout worse than ever. That was the same for me when I tried Neosporin on my face. I looked great for a while, then one day it was horrible and the Neosporin made it progressively worse.

This is in reply to you using Neosporin on your face. I'm 66 and have been fighting breakouts since I was 13. I recently have tried the Neosporin + pain relief cream. It has worked better then anything I've ever tried. Maybe you purchased the wrong type of Neosporin. I keep trying other things but end up back with the cream Neoporin. I wish you all good luck. It's been a burden since I turned 13. :wall:

OMG, dude don't tell me we can still get acne in our 60's, I was kinda hopeing this would diminsh sometime soon. Im glad you found something thats working for you. As for me I still use the head and shoulders for my back and chest, at night after the shower I use those stridex BP wipes then after my shower in the morning I use nature's cure SA spray. I started useing stIves medicated apricot scrub on my face and can't believ the results Ive seen, it makes my skin soo soft and has helped alot with my acne it also seems to keep my oil production down for some reason , I was affraid to try it, but im soo glad I did.

To the person who uses the tea tree oil to spray on their back and chest, do you mind if I ask what brand and where you get it.

So how many times a day is good to use the H&S?

IS using a dime sized good to wash the face??

what i use to wash my body and its kept my body..(back) clear and smooth even for a man... I use Dove Deep Moisture... and i wash my body with a pouf... It has kept my body clear for 10+ years.. And females love the feel of it...

66! oh my, I am 46 and still get acne only mine is on my neck and I don't get much on my face just there which stymies me to no end. I still use bp and probably always will because the neo just doesn't seem to help much. So much for the golden years being golden! Now along with acne I can look forward to tendonitis, crow's feet, along with being the only mother of the bride with acne, the only grandma with it, the only 92yr old with it and the only dearly departed with it! Life is just beachy sometimes!!!!!

Okay, I tried it this morning. When I got out of the shower my face felt really hot like it was burning, but now it feels fine and it looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you guys use it only when you take a shower in the morning or do you use it when you are washing your face at the sink at night too?

i did this for a few weeks. and the biggest upside was the fact that i didnt have to take my face wash everywhere i went. i just took a little bottle of shampoo when i stayed over somewhere. and it did clear my skin quite a bit. mostly helped the redness but also really helped the little bumpy zits. HOWEVER i had to stop because if i even sat outside for 5 minutes i was SO sunburnt. like really bad, especially on my nose. so if you try this load up the sunscreen everyday, maybe even twice or three times. i think there are some various head and shoulders shampoos that dont contain the amount of zinc that caused me to get burnt. but the one i used, classic clean, sure fried me up.

just to caution everyone

wow, thanks. that is sure good to know. I used it this morning, I am noticing like red spots like one on my forehead and one on my cheek, its flat and like a little red blotchy circle, wierd......did any wierdness happen initially when you started using it or did it just starting clearing you up?

i've been using H&S classic clean for about 4 days now i feel nothing after washing but when I apply my oil free moisturizer to my face it stings really badly. I know it can't be the moisturizer I've used it plenty of times before. :wall:
