Hyperpigmentation, or whatever it's called

Recommended Posts

Guest Marino

hey buddy,

there is hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation.

The first one [if memomry serves me right] is loss off pigment [i.e: a white/colourless spot]

hyperpigmenation is excess pigmentation [i.e: red/brown/black spots]

Hyperpigmentated spots can often heal with time, but hydroquinone/strong AHA lotions and topical retinoids can be used to speed up the process and regulate skin colour.

Personally, i'd use hydroquinone [4+ percent] day and night for 3 months, or a 15 percent AHA lotion day and night for a similar amount of time.

Both can be combined by applying retinA or similar retinoid at night to help speed up skin turnover.

hope this helps

take care
