Sunscreen/Sunblock Around Eyes

is it alright to apply some sunscreen/sunblock around the eye area (under eyes and lids)? so far, the sunscreens/sunblocks i have at home don't include any warnings on their labels about applying it in that area.

what do you think??? is it alright??

edit: i know about about sunglasses and all that but i want some added protection in that area. afterall, it is the most sensitive.

if it doesnt irritate you it should be fine.. if you want to you could get an eye cream with spf.. but its probably not needed.. and sunglasses block out all the suns rays.
