I went to my derm the other day n she prescribed me Retin-A and Duac. I finished a 7 month accutane course in November n still wasn't clear. I know Retin-A makes your skin red/dry/flaky but exactly how bad is this? I hated how inflammed my skin looked when i was on accutane and totally don't wanna go through that again, but does Retin-A have the same affect as accutane?

it probably depends how sensitive your skin is, and what percentage the retin-a is. I use the 0.025% cream and have never had a problem. Just be sure you read the isntructions thoroughly and follow them exactly!

I am on retin-a also, and if you use just the pea size amount that is recommended, you shouldnt have any long period of dryness or redness (although its almost inevitable that you will have SOME during the first week or so as your skin adjusts). I am on retin-a and benzaclin and it is working slowly but surely. What is in duac? Is it the same as benzaclin?

hmm i'm not sure what benzaclin is, but duac has:

1.28% Clindamycin Phosphate and 6.67% Hydrous Benzoyl Peroxide
