over the counter scar treatment

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to take an informal poll on what the best acne scar treatment that you can buy at the drugstore. I really can't afford to do any of the serious stuff at the dermatologist b/c my insurance doesn't cover it. But I have icepick scars AND like these red raised bumps, and it's starting to get really depressing because I thought they would go away as my acne went away but they haven't. I don't know what to do.

Sweetie,

If there was an easy and effective over-the-counter product, this and many other support forums woudn't exist. But you are more than welcome to use the search engine on this forum and you may find some pinned Over-theCounter-threads. Remember, Scarring is very difficult to treat (unless you have a super mild case), On this forum for example, there are many members who have been struggling with scars for over 20 years. And yet, they haven't found an effective treatment. Also, (With the exception of only a few number of countries, 3 or 4, ) Insurance doesn't cover Cosmetic Procedures including scarring treatments (unless it's life threatening). So don't think our insurance company pays for it. We have to work hard and save money. And even if your procedure is covered by your insurance, there is not a magical treatment.
