what a rude women for saying something like that. Sounds like you should take that crush back and use it on someone else. Shes not worth your crush!

The worst thing someone ever said to me wasn't about my acne, but rather about my reaction to it. When I first started getting acne, I tried different things one after another. Everyday, I had something or another on my face.

One day on the way to the bus stop, I was 12 or so at the time, I had to stop to tie my shoe. I could hear another little boy talking to the group as I tied my laces:

"Look! *my_name* is probably even rubbing mud on his face now!"

I was so angry and confronted him about it. We were suppose to fight that day after school, but he never showed up.

I also had a very bad speech problem when I was a kid. The only insult about me physically was from a popular young girl in my class when I was 10 or so. She turned around in her seat and was just staring at me. I asked what she wanted and her reply was "You know, you are so cute until you start talking." Man, that really devastated me. At-least my speech has gotten completely better. I just wish my acne would do the same already.

Walking into the caf in 7th grade, while this girl turns to her friend points at me and says " she has pimples everywhere" back then it really made me feel stupid and gross because she was in the 10th grade. Walking into the local bar around here now and then I see her looking rather plump in her "too tight" clothes. She doesn't fase me now but back then I took all those insults. Nowadays if someone were to comment on my skin to my face I'd end that quick with a beat down. But don't go by me, I just don't take shit from anyone.

Yea and that was said to me as a grown ass man. It was a coworker I had a small disagreement with and that is the shit he said. I've always been a easy target that is why I can't even disagree with someone and be assertive.

I wish the whole what goes around comes around thing was true but its not. That guy has a beautiful wife, 2 kids and is doing pretty well to this day. I see him around once in a while. I don't wish harm on the dude but I just wish my life wasn't so shitty.

The most recent was at a wedding ceremony, before it began. I was sitting in the back row next to one of my friends and his date. To the left of me was a group of girls. I heard one whisper "you should hangout with that guy, he came alone too". The girl sitting next to me whispered back "If you see his face up close you'll know why".

God, hearing comments like this just piss me off so much. Literally makes me think there's no hope for the human race. Shallow ass idiot girl.

Sounds like a female version of Shallow Hal...she can be the hottest chick on the planet and if she makes comments like that in public I'll still think she's a worthless scumbag. Sorry you had to deal with that, dude.

That's a very wrong impression, imo. It's generally much easier to focus on the negativity towards something than the opposite. We don't pay much attention to those people who DON'T stare, DON'T comment, DON'T care and respect other's space. How often do you catch yourself thinking "Oh, this person didn't even look at my face" or "The group of girls sitting in front of me didn't make fun of me, in fact they were all into their own business". Much depend on your perspective - if you let 1 bad comment weigh down hundreds of others who didn't care about your acne, then the problem is your head, not in people.

There have always, absolutely always existed those, that feel good about bringing others down, but they are the minority. Most people actually are quite nice or just too busy with themselves.

That's a valid point. I'll rephrase my comment...I literally don't think there's hope for CERTAIN members of the human race. :P I do agree that shallow/bullying idiots like the girl referenced in this post are rare compared to the general public that know how to be courteous to others, I guess I just feel like sometimes the shallow people overshadow the nice ones who say nothing because the negative comments are the ones we tend to remember. Just my two cents.

I guess we will never live in an utopian society, but it's unfair of some people to say, that the world is going to shit and it's just a depressing place where nothing good is happening. It's a pity that shallow people overshadow the good ones. It's a shame that if you'll get a nice compliment by one person and a mean comment by another, you'll go to sleep crying and feeling bad about the later one. But all depends on what you choose to focus on...

ps by "you" I don't mean you personally, just talking in general. :)

It was the first month of my college.I was a fresher and had made some friends. We were a group of 6 guys who used to hang out together in and around the campus. We saw a beautiful girl going and we started ogling her (guys ya know).Suddenly i said "What a beautiful girl" ,to which one of my friend said "Stop dreaming about pretty girls because with a face like that (pointing towards my appalling acne),you won't get any girl, leave alone the pretty ones".I spent the entire day in melancholia.I hated that guy for his vanity.Strange that today ,after 2 years he is one of my best buddies. He helps me with my acne and i know he would stand up for me if anybody mocked me in the class for my acne.

Acne sabotaged my love life.It made me sullen. But it made me work on other things in life.I worked out, read a lot,got good grades. In other words it helped me with my life. But i never had a girl :( Probably because acne destroyed my confidence.

That's how I spend most of my time too, working out and reading. I figure even if I can't get a girl I can still enhance my body and expand my mind, it definitely helps to look at it that way. :)

Yes.Reading has helped me a lot.It tranquilizes me.Exercise makes me sweat and my skin looks amazing immediately after the workout.Even if it is short termed.I'm going to add "Arnold presses" in my shoulder workout repertoire ;)

ah man memories. in my 20's when my shit was bad i had 40 and 50 year old dudes making fun of me when i worked at mechanic shop. made me realize people dont really grow up. i tried to laugh it off at first but if you do that they become persistent and it gets out of control. start taking liberties. i should of wrecked one of those old f*cks maybe they would of shut up about it but ofcourse I didn't. whatever.

yeah, it really bothers me how many older plp are like that. you would think that with age comes out the better quality in a person, but yeah grown ass plp 30 & up still acting in that way makes me feel bad for them really, i won't be like that when im older. these plp have little sympathy or understanding for my situation, i find it pathetic on their part...

Real waste of space imo, the world needs less people like that & more open minded ones like myself/people on the org.

To the guy wanting to smack those, who think world isn't trash, back to reality - your reality is just yours. And again - the world doesn't end where your neighbourhood ends. If 100 pages of people ranting on acne forum is > than the input done by many compassionate people from various organisations, charities etc to improve the world at least a bit, well... I think it's obvious what really is trashy here. Someone's perception and pov... Very sad.

I was teased. Every single day by this guy in 8th grade. After that experience...I have never been the same about my acne. I let it control my life, sadly...
