Meanest thing that someone has said about your acne

Recommended Posts

People are just downright mean. Too bad we all couldn't be naturally beautiful and perfect like they think they are - I just pride myself on the fact that it's people like that who usually don't get anywhere in life.

Well, I remember once someone called me a mutant cos my skin aint human. Comes to think of it, I do look like a mutant. The huge scars on my face make me look like one of those vulcans from star trek or something. If you don't believe me, check out my personal bp album.

Good-looking drunk woman to good-looking drunk man, LOUDLY, as I walk past...

'God! Do you think its a curse?'

For some reason, although I have had far more blunt proclamations of disgust from on-lookers, particularly at school, this one really hurt.

"Your ugly" is the worst thing I have ever been told about my acne by someone I didn't know, most of my friends and people I know don't say anything. I was walking down the street then these like 10 year old girls call me ugly, not like I care of their opinion its the fact that these little kids are so hurtful and they don't even know it. Fucking hicks, they need some discipline

Its weird how your parents say shit to you, when your friends or people you don't even know dont say anything. The most hurtful comes from my brother, which once made me cry.

Luckily Ive never had someone make fun of my acne directly, im sure they something about me elsewhere, but never to me which I guess is a good thing. I think it has something to do with my confidence level though, when im around good friends, I act completely normal and dont let acne ruin my life, although when im alone, its a little different.... sad.gif

Reading some of these cruel things people say makes my heart break...I've got a few of my own as well...

~ (one day in grade seven, when I came to school without covering up my zits) My 'friend': "Oh my God! What happened to your face, you look so *awful*!" Coincidently, I never went to school or even outside my room without makeup again.

~ "Have you tried ____ [insert some typical otc product that was one of the first thing you tried years ago when you started getting acne] ?"

~ "You don't wash your face enough"

~ "You wash your face too much"

~ My friend matter-of-factly: "It's because you drink coke that you have all that acne, you know." (That was years ago, but even then I didn't believe it. I have been drinking hardly anything but water and juice, and my acne is still terrible.)

~ "You should squeeze that."

This one hurt the most...

Well-meaning but tactless friend: "Don't worry, not everyone can be beautiful."

Some other awful things were not what people said, but what they did... Like, one time the same friend from the last quotation... completely out of the blue when we were talking to each other, she ran her finger down my nose and then looked at the oil on her finger that came off of it with a horrified expression and said. "EW!"

That hurt so, so so bad when she did that.... bb_icon_cry.gif

how exactly is this person your friend.

I think you need to step back and really ponder how you benefit from a friendship like this.

"You got chicken pox haha" and some other guy started laughing.My friend was next to me!

And then of course the ex best friend always being mean about my acne.Always had some comment.Once I borrowed her lip gloss and I happened to have a pimple on my face,and she noticed it.And I had to pay that stupid girl pig a buck for it.And some other stupid girl starts saying that you can catch the pimple because of that.Psh...Back then she was my best friend.You don't treat a best friend like that.

The girl does have a history of always humiliating me especially near guys though.Calling me fat.She's as fat,or fatter than I am.

My brother and sister would tease me about it.Then puberty came and they got acne.Not a peep about acne from them anymore.But they only have a few pimples.I've had acne since birth,and as I grew older,it just took over my face.

Oh,I remember,I was sitting in class in the 1st grade and the teacher came over to squeeze my face.... ohmy.gif

OK, I've got a piece of advice to all of you who suffer from those faggots who make stupid comments about your acne:

1) If someone says something that offends you, make some quick arrogant reply, (I'm from Poland, so I'm not sure if those things can be translated properly from Polish to English, but I'll try my best), for example:

(Idiot)-Your face looks terrible.

(Me)-Yours will look a lot worse if you don't shut up. {for the non-bright: you say it with the intention of smashing his face}

(9yr old shrimp)-Why do you have so many pimples ?

(Me)-Cause I've been asking people stupid questions in the past.

(Idiot)-{says anything serious that make you feel bad}

(Me)-{laughing} Look, I know that your mommy doesn't love you and your daddy does only at night, but the counselor's office is the right place to cure your complexes, not the classroom {whole class laughed at this moron when I said that}

(Idiot)-You look like shit, man! Change things you eat!

(Me)-OK, but first you tell me what you are eating, cause I want to avoid it, as it obviously makes the IQ drop dramatically.

(Idiot)-With your face, your chance to get a girl is as small as {some small thing}

(Me)-It's still a lot bigger than your brain.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Those were a few examples from my life. Now I'll write some responses that I'd probably use if someone said something that was posted on this message board to me:

(Idiot)-{something about a pimple which looks like a wart and that you are becoming a witch}

(Me)-That's true and I'm hoping to learn some spell that will give you at least some brains.

(Idiot)-You should get a treatment for your face.

(Me)-And you should get a treatment for your legs, cause it's too late for the brain.

(Idiot)-You should wash more often.

(Me)-And you should take your {some popular medicine for some LOL, connected with psychical health disease} more often.

There is always risk that the Idiot will be wanting to beat you up - when it happens, don't be afraid to fight. It happened to me once, and I lost the fight. However, after this, the fucker never said anything about my appearance again and besides, people gained some general respect for me (Those are today's teenagers: respect you only when you show them that you are not a wimp)

----------------------------------------------------------------

And now some tips for acne sufferers:

----------------------------------------------------------------

2. Say to yourself positive things about yourself very often. For example, when you wake up, say something like "Good morning, Master" or "Good morning, gosu". When you do something well, say "You own, man!" or "You're the man!". Even when you are putting on your medicine and must look in the mirror, say "The day I will be clear, will be the day that all the fuckers will finally see my true power." Say it with a self-confident and 'cunning' voice, like those bad guys in cartoons bb_icon_twisted.gif . I know that this sounds pretty silly and strange, but when you do it for couple of weeks, you'll discover a significant change in your self-esteem.

----------------------------------------------------------------

3. Avoid all mirrors plz. Look at them only when you are using your medicine. Self-whining will do you no good and additionally, you lose a lot of precious time.

----------------------------------------------------------------

4. When you walk in the street, don't think like "Oh no, everyone is looking at my face". Think like "Even if there are people looking at my face, they'll look at it and forget about it in like 4 seconds. So it has no real impact on my life. Therefore, there is nothing to worry about. I'll better think about tomorrow's {some tomorrow's activity}."

----------------------------------------------------------------

I know that these rules can be hard to put them into deeds. But today's world is so fucked up that we must be strong, self-confident and don't give a fuck about what other faggots think about us. If you don't have courage, act like if you had. No one will see the difference.

For your information, I am 17, have mild to moderate acne since 15 and I believe that there are more important things to worry about than my face.

Good luck in your struggle with this annoying disease.

That was truly inspiring, that you for posting that! We should all aspire to have that kind of confidence! mzbs17, barkbat, the girl I mentioned is still my friend to this day, but I believe that she has wizened up a bit... When she did that she was a very very ignorant girl, but I forgive her because I know she really didn't mean any harm...

what effects me most are the expressions that i read on people as they fixate on my acne and grimace. That awkward uncomfortableness as they try desperately to avoid the topic. The people who have the courage to mention it to my face don't bother me as much because at least i know they are honest.

dannalue - When in the Air Force, did they have a dermatologist available for you?

I've always wondered if young men and women in the service could get

medical treatment for acne. Just curious.

If you're a guy: How to avoid these remarks..so on your first day on school you beat all the new kids (and some of the old kids you missed last year).So after you beat about 50% of the kids at school your problem is solved for a year.Works everytime.

i honestly found this topic quite painful to read

geez people can be so mean i must admit i dont think ive had it too bad I also used to be quite chubby and that used to really upset me wen sumone said i was fat

i mean why do people really say such things do people think that you really want to have acne and need to be made fun of, isnt just having the acne bad enough without dim witted folks talkin SHIT

I remember once being outside and I was with sum of my friends who also have sum acne and then sum young kids came up and said I wonder which of those kids has the most spot sor sumthing like that which upset me

i remember one girl was talking to another across the room from me and commenting on a few of us guys me and sum friends and they went through and talked about faults and quite successfully pointed out that i have an acne problem well thanks for pointing it out

anyway stay strong kids at least ur not the idiot throwing the abuse sometimes it would be nice to be clear but imagine being that stupid and narrowminded
