how come people are prescribed different types of tetracyclines? i was prescribed tetra, but why are other ppl prescribed doxy or mino but not tetra? why would a derm give someone mino instead of doxy or vise-versa, does ur acne have to be a certain type like more severe to take mino or doxy?

I think the level of tetracycline prescribed does depend on acne severity as well as allergies and such. I had a really bad stomach reaction to doxycycline, so my derm put me on minocycline, and it's been working nicely along with Retin-A Micro 0.1%.
