purchasing tca

Recommended Posts

I am looking to purchase tca for spot treatment of a few red scars left from acne. Done a tca blue peel over a month ago and found it to be quite helpful in reducing the intensity of the red scars ,but it was costly - £800 in london. Do you know any reliable websites that can deliver to the uk and what % to start with - i was thinking around 20%.

thanks

Yeah, i'm wondering the same thing. I have some scarred pores, and ice pick scars I want to try and help to improve and I want to do a TCA cross. I don't know what percentage to start out on though.

Hi terminator2.

There are various websites that sell TCA in various strengths. Here are a few-

http://www.mytcapeel.com/page/page/2806386.htm

http://www.loganwoodskincare.com/productSe...tle=TCA%20Peels

http://www.platinumskincare.com/glycolic-boutique.htm - (shows a lists of all strengths of TCA acids they sell)

http://www.shenandoahconnection.com/tcakit.htm ( here will you get everything you need which includes ointment for after treatments which the other sellers dont offer )

www.makeupartistschoice.com

There are others. If you type "tca peel" into google you'll get lots of links or sellers, but those ones i mentioned above are one's i'm familiar with.

All of those sellers will deliver to the UK. You're right to start off with around 20% to begin with, and if your skin handles it well and you'd like to improve the strength then you could move up to 25%.

kanmi- If you have never tried TCA CROSS before then it's definitely wise to start off with a weaker solution other than 100%, as scars can very easily be made worse if you don't know what you're doing. I suggest for your first cross you use around 25% TCA just so you can get used to placing a very small amount of acid into the centre of the scar tissue. It's always better to be safe than sorry, and if you feel comfortable after your first cross you could move up in strength. I suggest you read the very helpful TCA Cross threads on this forum before you attempt the procedure. This thread is very helpful and long, but it's definitely worthwhile reading through it all- http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=5610

here is some of the korean report carried out by the docs who discovered the CROSS method. - http://www.cosmeticskin.com/skin-acne4.shtml
