Does anyone here sleep on their back AND have acne on their cheeks???

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to see the connection of pimples on your cheeks and sleeping with ur face in ur pillow at night time. I sleep with my face in the pillow because it's the only way i'll fall asleep and the only place i really get acne is on my cheeks. SO, does anyone sleep on their back and only get acne on their cheeks? I'm curious

yep. grrr.

i'd say sleep however you dern well please. i've had times when i've cut out all citrus fruits (supposedly there's some link to acne on the cheeks with those, but i'm really not believing that anymore), given up using headphones 'cause they kinda touch my cheeks, and slept on my back, and still had my cheeks break out -- and there've been times that i've eaten lots of oranges and grapefruit, practically lived in headphones, and slept on my side, and had perfectly clear cheeks.

the only thing that's fixed me is the crazy electric toothbrush exfoliation thing that i learned here (with really "pure" organic type soaps) and spot treatment w/ adapalene gel.

no relation to sleeping positions or citrus that i can tell.

these days i let myself sleep on my side, and put the cheek with fewer redmarks (i'm using some scar fading stuff on both, but don't want to waste it by having it rub off on the side where i'm using more of it.. if that makes any sense at all, heh) to the pillow. haven't broken out any more there. but i'm also a really quiet sleeper, so maybe it's different if you're constantly moving around and mushing the pillowcase against your face instead of just putting your cheek down ONCE and staying like that until morning.

I don't think that it really matters how you sleep. IMO if you just don't think about it it probably won't happen. Just try to forget about it, as hard as it seems, it works :D
