i just wanted to say that i recently went to San Francisco and we had a dance rehearsal in one of the rooms at a hotel we were staying at ....and boy was it humid in there for some reason...like really really sticky sweat dripping down your face humid...especially from the dancing we were doing....and that day i had 3 huge pimples....not to mention the old left over marks on my face ....and the next day when i woke up my skin was rejuventated and almost pimple free..it was so weird!....i thought the opposite would happen from all the sweat and oil

and also....

i went to Philippines this summer and my goodness it was as humid as the San Francisco hotel room! except it was humid everywhere....and i went there with my usual acne...and once again the next day it was almost gone...then the rest of the 2 weeks i was there i didn't get any pimples!..this never happened to me before...there were even nights where i was forced to sleep with make-up on and i still didn't have pimples the next day...very weird

so....

when i got back home i bought a humdifier....i tried not to leave my room....i let it get super hot in here...but for some reason all i felt was hotness and mist which left my skin dry ...i never got a sticky feeling like in SF and Philippines....so then my skin would get slightly flaky ...absolutely no improvement this way

now....

i've been drinking green tea every day....3-5 times....for about 2 months...and my skin has been a bit better..i'll get a little pimple every now and then and a few more around my period...but not like before...and i haven't gotten sick...which i always am...and feel a little better about my skin....not a miracle but an improvement

I find mine improves when Im away from home. At the moment im still doing this blasted regimen (although it has worked) but a few months ago, before I started and when my acne was bad, I went camping for a week. And anyone who goes camping knows that it aint easy to wash. So I hardly ever did, especially my face, and if i did I kept it to a minimum, so just soap and water. Also plenty of fresh sea air and some sun occasionally thrown in. I actually found my skin improved, even though I wasn't applying any creams, or taking any medications.

I think my water at home may have something to do with it too. It is heavily chlorinated and hard, which really dries out my skin. But when Im away from it it seems to improve!

Also it is mental, when your away on a vacation you usually don't let your acne get in the way. You wanna have a good time and take it in, so usually you don't think about your acne at all and that helps. Along with the weather and everything. If your not in front of the mirror every second checking if your zit went away your skin may clear up, since you would usually be stressing over your skin.

P.S... i know some people think stress isnt the problem

I have oily skin. A few years back, I went to New York where it was dry and cold. My skin never looked better. My dermatologist asked me if I had ever thought of moving there.

I know what you mean. It's (obviously) winter now, and winter just creates havoc to my skin. I'll be glad when summer holidays roll along and I'm back in Malaysia.

who knows.. it's different for everyone.. my skin looked great in Paris and Dominican Republic. I think it's because I was outside all day, and UV kills acne apparently.

I do tend to break out when I travel, esp when I was going bt home and college (US and UK) and I always attributed that to being super-stressed, 12 hrs spent on planes (usually wo being able to apply zit cream or wash properly). However, Scotland was hugely more humid, and my skin usually looked a little worse there, but I definitely wasn't getting enough Vitamin D or sleep, so I really don't know if it's just the humidity.
