when does scars become permanent?

Recommended Posts

Uhhh, I don't really know either. I've read that some scars (rolling) will eventually fade but, it could take a while. Also, it's dependant on other things such as age.

Some scars can take up to a few years to fade. Others unfortunately are permanent unless treated.

Usually scar tissue is fully matured when it has color lighter than a normal skin surrounding it. For deep scars it can take couple of years. When it is red, it is still developing and for shallow ones it may not turn out to be a scar at all, but was/is just that "red mark".

My daughter has shallow ice pick scarring and about 5 or 6 rolling scars. They are just now about at a year . I have noticed an improvement in the ice picks just in the last month. They are getting smaller and more shallow on their own. I have been told they won't improve by a lot of people, but they have.
