BENZOYL PEROXIDE - TUMOR PROMOTER?

Recommended Posts

Benzoyl peroxide has been shown to be a tumor promoter and progression agent in a number of animal studies. The clinical significance of this is unknown.

Benzoyl peroxide in acetone at doses of 5 and 10mg administered twice per week induced squamous cell skin tumors in transgenic TgAC mice in a study using 20 weeks of topical treatment.

If you don't believe me, I use Duac Gel which contains 5% bp. I'm really confused and shocked, because I really don't know what this means!

It's on page 11...

Anyone can say anything guys?

Because if this is true, I won't continue using BP.

Those studies used mice with very high dosages, sometimes 100% benzoyl peroxide. Besides, BP has been used over 30 years with no linked cases of cancer.
