Tetracyline and sun exposure

Recommended Posts

I'm new to this site, and deperately trying to help my teenage son. I posted something a few minutes ago, but not sure that I did this right.

My son has used ProActiv, which didn't work at all. He is now taking Tetracyclene along with erythimiacin topical gel. It does not seem to be working at all.

My neighbors son had bad acne. He used Dove soap and used the tanning bed which seem to clear it up.

Does anyone know how long you have to be off of tetracylene before you can be exposed to the sun?

Sun=bad skin. I went on a trip about a week or two before school started and I got alot of sun. Then right before school started I got one of my worst breakouts ever. I credited this to the sun.

Cancer and the fact that the prolonged sun exposure damages the skin aside, from what I've heard if you tan to keep acne away it'll come back with a vengence when you stop. Not something I'd want to do.
