deletethisnameplz 0 Share Posted December 6, 2005 Sorry, I know that this is prolly brought up a lot but I was just wondering when the initial breakout on Accutane tends to come and how bad it is. I'm guessing it depends on dosage and I dunno what the derm will give me but I weigh like, 115. I'm somewhat excited and anxious to start Accutane but I'm afraid of the initial breakout. I rarely get cysts (average one per month and go away without scarring), but I'm afraid the initial breakout will give me cysts or some big gross whiteheads .Anyone? Hi mate, I'm starting Accutane in 2 weeks too, so at least we've got similar considerationns right! The general attitude seems to be that breakouts occur on the 2nd week and normally clear by 4th, but some can persist up to the 3rd month, rarely but sometimmes even longer! As for the severity of the breakout, that varies, but genenrally people experience their 'usual' weekly or monthly breakout with a few added pimples, sometimes in places you've never had them before, e.g. the ears.
