Exoderm

Guest niko

I was in the sun all day today, so my face got really dry. I looked in a car window and my scars looked so ugly, I mean just hideous. For a split second I wanted to die, i crushed that idea quickly and thought I need a good scar solution. Already done the needling, and I think it did improve some scars, but nothing near my satisfaction.

I have 4 smoothbeam sessions left, but I don't see how a non-ablative laser is going to cure this.

I just bought Lactic -acid peels, will do this along CP and Emu Oil (these 2 have done wonders, CP did amazing improvement.

My scars are really shallow, but so ugly I cant tell you, in fact I am going to try to get a digital camera to show you.

What I think might be a good option is Exoderm. The area that is scared is shallow but extensive and it looks like all the skin needs to be sort of sanded down. They aren't deep separte pits, they are close together little shallow craters. Any thoughts on Exoderm?

exoderm gives amazing results as far as I know, but it really screws your skin up, i.e. I dont think you can ever tan after exoderm and stuff like that.

Niko?

You had smoothbeam, so did i, but why is my face so much better. And yours is not?

Do your scars disappear when you stretch them?

i have only had one Smoothbeam treatment on 10, so that could be why, due for one next week.

My scars completely disapear when I stretch them.

I am willing to trade skin that cant tan to get rid of these scars. I figure I could do a sunless tanner and have smooth skin.

Does the whole face have to be done? the scars are in my lower cheek area.

My parents have a house in San Diego, and I am going to visit them for 2 weeks in a month. (Dr Rullan is the man for this op and in San Diego)

Definitely worth getting a consultation.

I thought you had much success with needling, maybe you should go for a couple of more sessions, amorphous said he saw further improvements after each needling treatment. Maybe you could ask her to be more agressive? Exoderm seems extreme for shallow scars.

My scars are shallow, but they are configured in such a way that it looks really fucked up.

The needling did improve a little, but only some of the improvement stayed. I guess when I looked in the reflection I hit the worst angle and lighting possible, because I have never looked and been so devastated. I am not fussy either, I have scars on my temples since my teenage round with acne, and have never given them a second thought, (I didn't even want the smoothbeam doctor to touch them, but she insisted on it) I don't care about having some scars, but when something looks horrible I care. I don't even go out or socialise, I just stay away from people. I love to travel and party and this just sucks. That is why I think something extreme like exoderm might be the way to go for my case.

About asking her to be more aggressive,

being more aggressive is not necessarily better in needling, Lillian believes you just need to break up the scar tissue and if you penetrate too deep, it can too more damage. One of the things that Lillian said, was that my skin did not bleed, which is rare, she said almost all of her clients bled. She thought that maybe affected area had too much recent trauma.

The idea of chemoabrasion (phase of exoderm), seems like it would totally smooth this out.) After looking at my scars for the last 6 months, i think they might respond to an overall chemical sanding, or something as opposed to cutting to make better (ie subscision or needling).

I think I am going to go ahead with the next four smoothbeams, and start lactic peels. Exoderm will be something in my head to think about when all else has failed.

I know the car window is the worst, but it is the truth.

or not

it might have some kind of magnifying effect, when I look in the car window with my shirt off it looks like Jean Claude Van Damme, but I am built more like Edward Norton in American History X. :-k

Niko- Yeah the "car window" effect can be the best thing and the worst thing wrapped up in one. Even if you have a small zit on your face and a decent body, you'll look like Arnold Swartzenegger with a huge facial tumor. I think for sure windows exagerrate. I've seen people who I thought had perfect skin, and seen them in certain angles only to show many flaws on their faces.

Frozenblizz- I'm kind of weary of Smoothbeam. I thought it was a can't miss solution for me at first after reading how it helped FrankY so much. But then I read about how his scars magically reappeared about 6 months later...

Hmmm, hello50 seems pleased and so does marytheres. Lots of people are pleased with smoothbeam. I hope it's effects are permanent. Did Franky's scars come back completely?

Frozenblizz- Franky's scars have come back to the point where he was considering getting Needling done, and he said (if I remember correctly) that he was really upset over the fact that his scars have returned. But, he's not the only person I've heard that has seen their scars return.
