maelstrom209 0 Share Posted October 29, 2005 I've been cleaning my face regularly and using BP for my face to treat the acne I have and it seems to be making some progress. The problem that I keep coming into is that even with the acne getting better and some blemishes disappearing, new ones still pop up. I don't know exactly what is going on because I clean my face twice a day pretty thoroughly but since I do get pimples still, I conclude that I may still have stuff stuck in my pores. So it that's what's going on, I think the best way for me to help prevent more new pimples is by using some sort of mask to help extract all the impurities left behind from cleansing. I don't really use masks so this is new territory for me. I don't know where to start in terms of masks good for removing all the bad stuff from my pores. I think that if I'm able to really deep clean the pores, my pimples will finally go away.I have started to use toner these days after I cleanse which seems to be helping my skin somewhat. After that I use BP to treat the acne I have. But with more pimples still, although they are fewer, the mask should be the powerhouse punch I need to knock acne down forever. Please let me know what you guys think of this and what mask products you have used that worked for you. Thanks!!
kanmi 2 Share Posted October 29, 2005 http://www.origins.com/templates/products/...UCT_ID=PROD5689That one worked well for me.http://www.origins.com/templates/products/...UCT_ID=PROD4481So did this one. You don't even have to buy them, they will apply these masks for free. But I did buy the charcoal mask because I loved it.http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp...481&id=prod7481That one and last but not least ..http://www.drugstore.com/qxp143245_333181_...l_clay_mask.htmThose have all worked well for me. maelstrom209 0 Author Share Posted October 29, 2005 Cool, I'll check some of that stuff out. Did the masks help with your overall prevention and treatment of existing acne?
kanmi 2 Share Posted October 30, 2005 Cool, I'll check some of that stuff out. Did the masks help with your overall prevention and treatment of existing acne? The mint julep mask did. What I did with that, is applied it every night to my active acne areas. Then I leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning. After trying all sorts of masks to dry my acne in hte last 10 yrs the best I found on the market is DDF Sulfur Therapeutic Mask. It drys up the acne and moisturizes at the same time, I have not idea how it does that must be the glycerin in the product. Its $30 though but I'm on my 2nd bottle alraedy and will keep buying, its that good. read the reviews on Beauty.com and on Makeupalley.com. maelstrom209 0 Author Share Posted November 1, 2005 Does these help with red marks too? I have a bunch of red marks left behind and they are SLOWLY going away. Anything to help that along too is great. Thanks for all the responses!
legislatorgov 0 Share Posted November 1, 2005 I recommend the mask by Proactiv. That is probably the only part of their system that works.
maelstrom209 0 Author Share Posted November 3, 2005 I've tried out the Proactiv mask before and it did help a little. It mostly dried up existing acne and absorbed excess oil. That mask was harsh on my skin though. It became very tight and dry afterwards.
legislatorgov 0 Share Posted November 3, 2005 I just dabed in on existing spots before I slept..I agree, it is very drying, but if you dab it, its not so bad

Irin99 0 Share Posted November 3, 2005 I like the Murad Clarifying Mask. It contains sulpher and I can always feel the tingle when i use it....about 2-3 tx's per week. It definitely brings stuff out though. I used it one night before a date and when I washed it off, I had a full on red pimple where beforehand it was just a bump that I knew would become a pimple...lol. I like it though!http://www.murad.com/ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?...&minisite=10020Pricey though, at $34 bucks.
