TCA or Glycolic....a peel is a peel.

Recommended Posts

TCA Peel is stronger but you can always get a higher % of glycolic peel.

A peel burns a layer of the skin. The depth of the burning depends on the % of the acid.

Hence, a peel is a peel....it basically does the same thing.

So for scars...a TCA peel should be the same as (or almost) doing a 80% Glycolic peel.

Anyone agree?

Thats not how it works. TCA can me a medium/deep peel.. Glycolic is only a superficial at best. TCA penetrates the skin much deeper than glycolic, they can't even be compared for strength .. TCA wins easily.

But what about an 80% glycolic peel. Isnt that somewhat as strong as a 10% TCA?

I guess you could say that. I've had a 70% glycolic and i've also had a 25% TCA. There was no comparison there.. the TCA 25% is much deeper than a glycolic 70%.
