jack_spratt 0 Share Posted October 18, 2005 the title pretty much says it.You have to hold a gun to a nhs derms temple in order for him to prescribe accutane, whereas my private derm couldnt be happier to give it. However I cant afford another private course, and there are several mentionings of getting private prescriptions for roaccutane on the NHS within this forum - so has anyone got any idea how this works, the actual mechanics of it (i mean do they write to your gp or something recommending he prescribes it?)Thanks. suetey81 0 Share Posted October 28, 2005 hi therei got my roaccutane on the nhs. i basically went to my gp who tried me on antibiotics which i'd had befor but he insisted we must try everything, then i switched my bc pill . neither of these workes i still got cysts so then he wrote to the dermatologist at the local hosp and i got and appointment and he prescribed it because of the type of acne i had. hope this helps
