Collagen = scartissue or Collagen = normal looking skin?

Recommended Posts

Ok I have a question. What is correct - 1, 2 or 3:

1 Collagen = scartissue

2 Collagen = normal looking skin

3 Collagen = something else (what?)

Thanks!

OK thanks IDBNVS2. It is just annoying when some sites tell you that the treatment "stimulates collagen-growth". Hopefully they mean that new unscarred skin emerges?

Collegen is one of the main proteins found in the connective tissue and it aids in skin elasticity, durability and strength. It makes up about 75% of the dermis layer of the skin. So far 19 types of collegens have been discovered in a human body. Topical vitamin C and copper peptides have been reported to stimulate collegen production. I believe type I Collegen is the one responsible in the connective tissue of the skin.
