Colonel Angus 0 Share Posted October 17, 2005 I think there are different types of collagen and also what affects the appearance is how the collagen strands are layed down.
zxc 2 Author Share Posted October 17, 2005 OK thanks IDBNVS2. It is just annoying when some sites tell you that the treatment "stimulates collagen-growth". Hopefully they mean that new unscarred skin emerges?
*Ariana* 32 Share Posted October 17, 2005 Collegen is one of the main proteins found in the connective tissue and it aids in skin elasticity, durability and strength. It makes up about 75% of the dermis layer of the skin. So far 19 types of collegens have been discovered in a human body. Topical vitamin C and copper peptides have been reported to stimulate collegen production. I believe type I Collegen is the one responsible in the connective tissue of the skin.
