legislatorgov 0 Share Posted October 13, 2005 Hey everyone.I always visit acne sites and I always see people ask if Proactiv works or not. Ive never seen a poll with results showing how proactiv worked for people. Therefore, I created a poll on my website at http://www.dealwithacne.com. If you visit the site, on the left, you'll see a poll which asks: "How Well Did Proactiv Work For You?"I would appreciate if you guys voted. In around a month, I will talley up the votes and try to write an article with the results. Thanks!

Guest Share Posted November 11, 2005 (edited) it is rather expensive. it works out around £15 per 100ml, which is cheap compared to spot creams, but not face washes.it did work for me, i think, but it didnt completely get rid of all the spots, i just got really tiny spots.i half-regret it, because it made my skin dry and red. when i had spots i thought 'at least my face isnt red' but now it is and its lost its radiance.now ive got proactiv european version, which has no BP and more plant extracts etc...i'll see how i get on. to be honest, i think piling chemicals on isnt good for skin. i realise now gentle washing is better for skin.i think the advertisements are a bit misleading, especially the one with jessica simpson showing her with amazing skin, i dont have skin like that.... Guest Share Posted November 11, 2005 how/why does something just 'stop' working do the spots just like develop some sort of immunity?
kz123 0 Share Posted November 12, 2005 your skin becomes immune to the face wash and doesn't give the same dramatic affect any longer
Guest Share Posted November 12, 2005 eugh i hate how tenacious spots are.another thing about proactiv - the refining mask is absolute SHITE it makes ur skin so dry it kills.

seanryann 0 Share Posted December 3, 2005 I'm going to stick up for Proactive. I've been using it for about 2 1/2 weeks now, and I've had great results. My face hasn't been this good for years. Is it a "cure-all"? No.Has it worked better than the dozens of other products I've tried over the years? Yes. Is it expensive? Yes, but so is spending money on a bunch of different cleaners, and creams. No doubt I'm at the end stages of my fight with acne, and that probably has something to do with the great results, but I can honestly say my skin is much better now that I've started than before. I'd suggest giving it a try. I know it's pricy, but it's worth giving it a shot IMO.
pearl_chi 0 Share Posted December 7, 2005 I had used a million products and visited my dermatolgist frequently, but nothing helped quite like Proactive. I have great skin now and people actually stop me in the street to ask me what I use. I always suggest Proactive. This is a big deal since I struggled with acne my entire adolescence. However, I will agree that it loses its effectiveness, but only slightly. Since its been over a year that I've been using it, I now rotate btw. Proactive and the Neostrata acne-prone line, which I also swear by. I also use Diane-35.All this, and only non-comedogenic products/make-up, and I haven't had a break-out for over a year!! Chris1982 0 Share Posted December 13, 2005 I have been using ProActiv for about 6 months and just recently cancelled my orders. It worked awesome for about 4 months, then it "stops working". I went back to my old break out cycle, the break outs were not as bad, and the system helped keeping the few pimples look "a little better" and more under control, but regardless, it loses it's effectiveness, and you can buy a cheaper cleanser and 2.5% BP in the drugstore for 10% of the price. Mike_R 0 Share Posted January 2, 2006 People...you should know by now that no cream is going to "fix" acne forever...just like our bodies we eventually become immune...proactive does not work...if it does its a temporary fix...i used it worked for a while than it came back....went off it for a while and then ordered it again and it worked then it came back again..yey..:S....i wish companies would stop comim up with this acne crap...its the same for everything in life......we are suckers...and they know this. Anyways thats how i feel about.....iv stoped using "acne creams" because i find it doesent help....i wash my face and use a moisturizer and i still get some pimples but not soo bad..when you think about it those acne creams are drying out your skin making you shed skin cells even more dont you think that thats a perfect invironment for clogged pores?...say yes.. its true...some of you should just lay off the acne creams and see what happens....becides putting harsh chemicals on your face...does that sound helpful?...haah i could go on for days.. spidergirl79 1 Share Posted January 20, 2006 YES, it worked for me and it was amazing but then it stopped working! Same!! Doesnt work. And if it does, it quits!!
lalaland 0 Share Posted February 9, 2006 I accidentally bought the European version of Proactiv first (off of EBay). It worked great, I was okay with the ingredients (many natural extracts and such), and was very happy with the results. Upon running out, I bought some more, but this time it was the American version. The ingredients are much harsher, and it has b.p. instead of salicylic acid. Does NOT work at all. Maybe its my skin make-up, or maybe Americans are just bigger suckers than Europeans. All I know is I have to get the European stuff off of the European EBay site, because Proactive doesn't want to sell it to me. I'm sure there's some red tape involved that I'm not aware of, but here's my take:European Proactiv: works great!American Proactiv: sucks!
juno2610 0 Share Posted February 19, 2006 ok here is my story , especialy for all the people thinking gonna give proactive a try i used to have mild acne before use it but it"not that bad at all , went to the mall and bought the first set. when i first use it i think the proactive could handle my acne, after 1 month everything stop stop and my face became broken out like crazy , and supersuper dry , peeling also , at that time i was so freaking stress out , just don't want to go out any more . it'was so horrible , awful ,,i was just like want to kill myself right away. toltally i guess i already bought 6,or 7 set of proactive ,wasted a lot of $, huh waste money but get clear skin , i think that is worth it , but proactive just make your skin 100 time worse ..i right now just want to sue proactive company so bad ..please please please don't ever use it , proactive such a skin killer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
