I would really appreciate some help with my skin routine

Recommended Posts

I'm a 19 year-old male and I've never had extremely bad acne but I've been plagued with mild acne since I was 15. My skin has been consistently blotchy since I was 14. The blotchiness is what drives me crazy. It makes my face look horrific. It's summertime and I don't want to go out because of my skin's condition. I would really, really appreciate some advice.

I am taking Dynacin 75Mg anti-biotics twice a day. It has effectively eliminated white-heads on my face for the most part. I only get 1, maybe 2, pimples a month now.

I apply Klaron lotion to my face in the morning after having washed my face with Johnson and Johnson Purpose soap. I'm not really sure what the Klaron does but it seems to moisturize.

At night, after washing my face for the second time, I apply Retin-A Micro 0.04% gel to my chin, sides of my face beside the eyes, and the t-zone area. The retin-a has eliminated my blackheads and I hardly breakout where I apply the gel.

Now, to the problem at hand, my skin is blotchy. I can't stand to look at it in the mirror even though I don't have any zits. It looks red and irritated all the time. What can I do to even out my complexion?

I'm looking at the following Neutrogena products which claim to help even out blotchiness:

Neutrogena Multi-Vitamin Acne Treatment

Neutrogena Helathy Skin Face Lotion with SPF 15

Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser

I'm not sure how I would use any of these products in conjunction with my prescribed medication. Does anyone know?

Also, my upper back and chest breaks out fairly often. I'm using Phisoderm Acne Body Wash with 2% Salicylic Acid and it seems to help a little but not a lot.

My questions are these:

How can I even out my complexion while still using Klaron lotion and Retin-A gel?

Is there a better body acne wash out there than Phisoderm Acne Body Wash with 2% Salicylic Acid?

Is there a better soap than Johnson and Johnson Purpose soap for the face?
