I have heard alot of people from this board say that antibiotics only work temporary. IS THIS TRUE? OR maybe it just hasn't worked for people on this board (which is why you guys and I are still on here). Maybe the people which antibiotics have helped are not on this site. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Antibiotics kill the bacteria that cause acne. If you stop taking the antibiotics, then the bacteria doesn't get killed, so you break out again. Also, acne is something that's in your system and will be there until it dies out. So, the acne will still be "inside" you even though you take antibiotics. Antibiotics only control the amount of bacteria so that you won't break out. It doesn't kill it all and it isn't a cure. There is no known cure for acne aside from Accutane, which is the closest thing to a cure--and even with accutane, the acne sometimes comes back.
