how do i get rid of these red marks? its been 6 mo

Recommended Posts

just like many of you acne has ruined my life. i'm only 16 though so i haven't been through that much. anywayz i had a nice 15 pimples on the side betwen my sideburns and eyes. they the bumps turned into marks in jan-05 most of it faded by june-05 and now in august they turned a nasty red and my forehead joined the party too. there much worst than they look cuz the lightin kinda brightens the spots. what can i do to get rid of these permantly? i've read about Hydroquinone with Retin-A, 30% Glycolic Acid solutions, and azleaic (sumtin like that ) acid and taking in vitamin C. my dad takes Ester C which is kinda the same and i was wondering whats the best fastest approach for me? i kinda got these lil pimples too, but i'd rather get the scars taken care of 1st. http://www.geocities.com/secretz_0f_war/right.html

I know you've probably heard this but your red marks do not look that bad, although I couldn't see the nose/cheek picture, the link didn't work for me.

I read in one of your posts that you said your redmarks we re-reddening, do you wear sun block whenever you go out? Sorry to bore you with this info if you do, but find a SPF 30+ non-comedogenic (won't clock pores) sun screen.

I have been using 30% Glycolic peels for awhile, and I'm going to bump them up to 40% which will probably go to 50% if I'm not happy. I also have been taking Differin for 8 days or so, and that seems to be helping. Differin is a retinoid such as Retin-A or Tazorac and its main ingredient is Adapalene which will help to kill active acne. The retinoid helps cell growth in the skin which will help with the hyperpigmentation marks that you have. Have you talked to a derm at all? I have a Differin log that I am doing in the Personal Regimen forum, so you can check there if you are interested in how my Differin and weekly Glycolic Peels are going.

Good luck, I hope you find something that works.

The sun will make them look like they've faded, but when in reality the sun made them worse. Once you lose whatever tan you have the red marks will only stay longer, that's why you want the sun screen. What are your cheeks like? Do they have red marks also? Delna's method that you are using and I hope so, but I would also suggest just talking to a derm if you want.

Peels especially salicylic acid are the best for that ( it also helps with the active acne!

I have been doing peels weekly and my marks go bei 1 to 2 months ( 20 % salicylic acid peel ).

Search for ROBERT's posts about salicylic has no respect in this board. You will find lot of helpful tips.
